I have to be honest. There's a lot more to the book than this. Some very key aspects weren't mentioned here, and it's not full of these cheesy aphorisms. In fact, it is full of contradictions to these. The book is very easy to read. I suggest to anyone seeing this to just get the book and read it. It can change the way you deal with people without burdening them or yourself with unnecessary obligation or expectation.

Hey can you please add some more points to it..I mean the review of this book? Like if there is something which the readers need to know before buying the book.

@@rashmeetkaur1246 Actually the book is very easy to read and engaging. It's written in dialogue style. One thing that I find unique is that the book foresee probable contradictions that comes to its claims and theory and then explains it. I suggest to get the true essence of main points u should really read it and its gonna change or at least question your worldview. Give it a try, if you are overwhelmed by repetative contents of self help books.

Adler nailed it. Competition and comparison breed misery. The combination of social media and western capitalism seems to keep lots of people in the chronic stress loop. Probably better for promoting commodity fetishism and increasing profits of pharmaceutical treatments for life. Perhaps those aren't the healthiest priorities.

Great summary, and it inspired me to read the entire book. Had it not been for this summary, I would not have been aware or motivated to read it. “In summary”, the four minute video was perfect to determine if you want to learn more than the summary. Thank you again for this excellent source. Keep up the great work!!

Hello your confidence come from self belief. Low confidence arises when you try and meet the expectations of others. When talking and engaging with people drop the need for their approval and only speak if you want to. Focus on them when you talk and let them do most of the taking. Ask questions but do it from a place of genuine interest every interaction is a opportunity for growth and learning.

This disregards one's desires and the illusion of free will. We are more often unconsciously controlled by what happened in the past (e.g. growing up environment).

If that’s your outlook you are certain to be controlled by your past. For those of us who consciously choose a different path, no such restrictions need come into play.

Adler ignores the fact the brain creates neural pathways of depression and anxiety. It takes repetition to overcome these pathways and create positive ones.

I learned through practice of these concepts that visualization also can help Asking ourselves questions, meditating on those questions, but I really asking ourselves what’s in the way? What’s our goal? And how are we gonna get there? I feel the process is more about expanding the mind a mix of releasing and holding and chemicals naturally do their thing

I think therapy, psychotherapy and the concept of trauma are incredibly misunderstood by the authors. It's either they're lacking knowledge on the subject or they're consciously giving out wrong information. I like the core idea, that our whole xperience is generated in our mind. It's true, that happens. But we shouldn't forget that our body and mind aren't untouched by anything it processes (including outside world, past events). All this influences the experience the mind generates in the moment. This gives a great sense of ownership. The trap is guilt or shame. Because placing all the ownership and responsibility on the individual, might subconsciously lead to victim blaming (including yourself). Time has learned that we're dynamic individuals in dynamic and super complex systems. These two things combined form who we are.

Germany is a compettitve country and US not?? So why does Germany has a free health system for everyone ? Why does Germany has an free education system? idk but that conclusion seems wrong to me...
@FourMinuteBooks
@FourMinuteBooks 9 ай бұрын
It is saying US & Germany both are competitive. But this is more of a cultural point than an economic one. They are talking about competition between individuals being something that is openly acknowledged and valued. In the East, individuals also compete for jobs etc., but it is more subtly and covert, usually, and "serving one's nation" is higher on the cultural totem pole.
