the Craftsman is back baby

Did a lot of work in this one. replaced some parts in the engine, did some painting and completely rewired the hole darn thing.

If the engine doesn't blow up when that compression release breaks, people on the internet say you can just leave the pieces sit down inside the bottom of the engine and remove the air cleaner, block the intake with your hand after rotating the engine backwards, hit the starter, and the lack of air in the cylinder will allow the engine to rotate fast enough that it will start & run. Then you put the air cleaner back on and mow. That is what I will try after mine breaks.

@billsimpson604 its surprisingly easy to replace the part. I do however completely understand if theres no desire to go through taking everything apart and putting all back together. Me personally i would probably lose sleep over the parts just laying loose on the inside of the engine tho lol

Allot of fun to keep from pushing a mower. I just need a bushing for the input shaft in my trans, but a 30+yo tractor isn't easy to find parts for.

Yeah. I have had a little trouble finding some o.e.m replacements for this one and its maybe 10 years old or something. Currently fighting with myself on weather or not to keep fixing stuff on it or just get something new
