Great information, well said. I've always wondered about temperature and the spawn. Enjoyed meeting you and your dad last week. Will definitely be ordering some of those orange swimbaits!

Thank you, I have been looking this year pretty hard. I found a beautiful site that's 80% closed in average depth 9- 12 ft going gradually into 2 ft for the entire 80%. There's lots of small trees and brush 6 ft to shore and there's old floating docks particularly sunk. Even if the wind blew into the small opening the majority is very still and calm in 10 mph wind. So, I am preying this is the spot. I do have a few other spots recently scouted. Now I know what to focus on it's going to be interesting.

I would look on the shallowest side or most cover depending on if the place is fished alot. If it's not they are probably every where over populated small ones

I went fishing the other day for pike. We started getting crappie on 1/2 spinnerbaits with 4.3” keitechs on them. I downsized to a 3.8” keitech on a jig and smoked em all day. 😂

I'd be curious to hear if you have any insights about how crappie behave in 45 to 50° water. We're a long way from 60° water where I fish for them in Colorado. In fact we just had a snowstorm that dumped about a foot of snow over several of the lakes I like to crappie fish. But I want to learn more about these fish. You got any advice where I should be looking for them in somewhat post ice conditions?

I would look around mainlake channel swings for brush they should still be pretty stacked up.

If the bridge is back in a creek or a pocket. Any hard bottom that the light can penatrate sometime during the day

Rarely because of water flow being faster at most bridges. Your looking for water cul-de-sac that's shallow and usually protected about 3/4 closed. Hope this helps, if you find a couple spots like that, just remember them because bluegill will use same area.

Is monkey milk really working for crappies? I don’t see those bait in store?

Can't find a better explanation Stepen... And bullseye on the LiveScope comment. We're talking Crappie, not bass. There are too many Randy Blockhead followers out there. Had one aggravating me about it up in Crystal Lake Monday 🤔. Great vid....
@realcmj10 ай бұрын
99% of people don't use scope the way that it's considered "cheating" because honestly when I'm looking for a giant I may drop a jig 10 times in 8 hours on a few fish that are huge. Not many people in their right mind can do that haha
@McBride033110 ай бұрын
@@realcmj not to mention we're using sidescan way more than FFS. If anything is cheatin', that is - and ya still have to know how to fish. Just like this video... If you don't know where to start looking, it's worthless anyway.... 🎣

I’m on Randy Blaukets side. However, with the crappie population being about ten times that of bass, its apples to oranges…or bass to crappie.

@@Shaqoneil81-ci7drit's definitely making a negative impact on crappie populations already

Livescope is gonna help so many more people catch those big females that used to not be targeted out in the middle of the lake and that is how it will start to impact Crappie populations.
