I tried it, it tastes AMAZING! I am doing something wrong or one important detail, I am not following. I made it twice the tastes is out of this world, however both times parts of the side walls just breaks and therefore the cake falls apart - this happens after the one hour when I take the spring ring off and put it back for another 20 minutes at higher temperature. the walls fall apart at that point - please tell me what am I doing wrong?

WOW! At Greekfest in the city I live in, they make baklava sundaes. My twin 5 yr old great niece and nephew and my 3 yr old great niece loved the sundae. Can't wait to rock their world with this. It combines 2 of my favorites as well. A friend's mother taught me how to make baklava as a teenager, but she also made it sometimes in muffin tins (called birds nests) as individual servings. I will also try making this recipe that way as I live alone and it would be easier to transport to my family and friends (I'll let you know how that works). My sister-in-law and her family will also be celebrating Eid (hope I spelled that right) and I'm always invited to the festivities. Perhaps this is what I will take! Thanks for sharing. Hello, I’m a new subscriber. Love your detailed instructions. Seeing a cheesecake recipe makes me want to ask if you could experiment with a favorite recipe of mine that is no longer being offered at the restaurant that made it. It’s a mixture of a cheesecake and a carrot cake (aka Craig’s crazy carrot cake cheesecake by the Cheesecake Factory). I would really really appreciate it if you could attempt making that recipe!

Unfortunately the baklava is very dry. The syrup only goes in the sides so it doesn't tast good if the baklava area is not in syrup. Was disappointed.

Hi there! Sorry to hear your baklava came out dry that must have been very frustrating :( so the baklava itself should actually contain the syrup and shouldn't be dry (if you look at my first shot of the fork going through the cake you can see some of the syrup coming out at the bottom). When pouring the syrup on the sides you want to make sure its going in between the sheets of the filo pastry so that it soaks up the nuts on the bottom :)

What I do with every recipe for the first time around is reduce the sugar and see how it comes out - then make additional changes after its made so the next time it will be perfect for your tast buds.
