Thank you for this history! I bought my first GShock several years ago after I read a review of it by a soldier who had carried it in a combat zone for 3 or 4 years. I was not disappointed.

I've been buying their watches for over 25 years. And they seem to last forever.

When I turned 13 in 1994,my Parents gave me a GShock G-Lide,the watch and band were separate.The band could be pulled right off the watch.I left it at a GFs house 10 years ago,and of course she has no idea where it is.I’ve never seen another gshock like it since.

So if I have this way, you’re saying Casio created the first calculator as we know it?
@TimesTicking4 ай бұрын
@zkid676 According to AI, The first push-button digital calculator, known as the "Comptometer," was invented by Dorr E. Felt in 1887. This invention marked a significant advancement from previous mechanical calculators, introducing the concept of key-driven operation, which allowed for faster and more efficient calculations. The Comptometer's design influenced many later calculators, setting the stage for the development of electronic and digital calculators that followed. In the realm of electronic calculators, the ANITA Mk VII, developed by Bell Punch Co. in 1961, was the first all-electronic desktop calculator, using vacuum tubes. The first handheld electronic calculator, known as "Cal Tech," was developed by Texas Instruments in 1967 and became commercially available in 1970. The Busicom LE-120A "HANDY," released in 1971, was the first pocket-sized calculator using an integrated circuit, making it a true precursor to modern digital calculators.

The first G-Shock I ever saw was on Keanu Reeves’ wrist in the movie Speed. I’ve loved them ever since.

you should have included the famous hockey puck commercial and the news segment about it that started it all in the US.. it's too important in the g-shock history to not be mentioned..

I had a couple of bad buys from other well known makers before I settled on a G Shock, and this one lives up to it's name. The Seconda was the worst buy, they seem to last 1 year, both hands fell of the last one.
