It seems that most religious organizations are constructs to gain money & resources. I left organized religion, years ago. Many churches are filled with predatory people who take advantage of the trust within a religious organization. I am a spiritual person, not religious. Living in the Bible belt makes it a bit of a challenge. I was invited to spend Thanksgiving with a well-known, wealthy family a few years ago. The people, themselves, are really nice people. Before the turkey was brought out, they did the often customary, "What are you most thankful, for?" My answer was truthful. I work a lot, 12 - 16-hour days, most often. I relax with a couture sewing project. My answer was that I'm grateful to still have excellent eyesight. Most of my immediate family had to get eyeglasses by 5th grade. Not me. The people at the table looked at me like I had just grown 2 heads. After dinner was over, the matriarch of the family, sat down next to me & said she wanted to talk to me. OH BOY! She asked me, so sincerely, "Have you found Jesus? I tried to use humor to ease things. I answered her with, "No, I didn't know he was missing." I thought it was FUNNY! No one else did. They asked me to leave.

@@FreeSpirit47 The Love that Jesus practiced and preached has well defined rules and regulations. It can be so easily found in the Gospel. Misunderstanding the way or manner of love Christ recommended His disciples to practice is what separates Christians from Christ.

@@mountainmovingprayersofficial I left that bull crap behind years ago. Life became better instantly. Church congregations are the perfect place for predatory people to find their next victim. People are more friendly, open, trusting. It's also a pedophiles' buffet.

Be careful with Scientology. I would never say something about them not making threats and they totally didn’t hack and destroy my Facebook. They need to realize that I don’t talk about them. Just in case you’re still reading my comments. I’m not talking about David the head of Scientology

I was in Boston Common with my Uncle and much younger cousins. The Moonies were there and invited me to join in their "Feast"(watery potato salad). I had some potato salad and talked with them, Interesting people. My little cousin Ryan started crying, he was afraid I would run off with the Moonies. I asked him why he thought that, He told me I'm a little kooky sometimes......lol! He was 6, I was 31 😁

great video, how about one on the major religions please. History shows that its the passage of time that turns a Cult into a Religion. they all have their very basis in common: a belief in an invisible man who lives in the sky, and mortals who he speaks to and says what he wants of us and what they can do to us if we disagree (heresy). in the Inquisition the Catholic Church murdered, tortured and burned "heretics" alive for over 400 years and they are not alone. other major religions did and still do the same. its the common nature of the beast. why are the subjects of this video unique or any worse?

It is not proper English to say "prophesized" although most people use it. The correct word is "prophesied." I wish more people would learn & use this; especially public speakers.

Charlie was NOT a cult leader. What he was, was an intelligent, charismatic, funny man. It's a shame that his mother abused and corrupted him at such an early age. If he had been raised in a loving home from birth-perhaps his genius would have been used for good instead of evil. A bunch of lost teens looking for love and acceptance became the horrible murderers. Now that Charlie is gone, can we start laying blame where it truly belongs? 😊

No. Gross. So many people who go through abuse that don’t become evil cult leaders. His choices led to that. Blame stays where it belongs 😂
