See, everyone going "idc, this looks bad ass" tells me you either didn't watch the original, or were too young to understand it. The original was a beautiful, gothic tragedy about personal loss and grief. A piece of art. Not a "bad ass revenge" movie. Everything down to the pacing, tone and lighting feels off here. I must admit, when I was a teenager, I HATED City of Angels. Now, as a father, I rewatched it and, despite the original being way better, the 2nd film spoke to me more since Ashe lost a child. The 1st movie is better, but the 2nd has more meaning to me as a father.

Thank you. Here's my take. When Heath Ledger was announced as the joker, I laughed and said he would be terrible. Then he turned out to be the best joker ever. I learned to NEVER judge a movie before you see it. I'll definitely be seeing this.

💯 I love the crow in general not just the first original movie, the comic the story everything about it, I personally have been exited since the first trailer, I think this sums up the crow perfectly for this generation, as they wouldn't be into grunge and the goth look there more into this new tattoos everywhere quite depressing sound etc this fits perfectly with this generation 💯💯

Whats eary, watching this after seeing the "Rust" trial finishing up. Knowing the original "The Crow" movie Brandon Lee died on set like the young lady did on set of "Rust." Life is strange. The events in this world are getting stranger by the day. I hope this movie is awesome. Make Brandon Lee proud. ❤😇

The original with Lee is one of my all time favorites hands down. With that being said I don’t share the hate everyone seems to have towards this. Times change, ideas evolve. It might be terrible, but maybe it’s not. I respect it’s trying something different. The things I’ve seen so far have at least intrigued me enough to see it in a theater and make my own judgements instead of “it’s nothing like the original I automatically hate it”

Honestly your argument makes fine sense except they are taking characters/names from an established property and shoe horning them into this atrocity and calling it by the same name. The 94' movie is a cult classic, meaning it has a devoted and caring fan base. If they had not used the Eric and Shelly characters and called this movie "The Crow, 0 Fucks Given" 90% of the negativity wouldn't exist. That's not what they did though, instead they took just enough from the source material to be able to leech off of the popularity and name recognition of the original while delivering none of what made the original great. This movie looks like a generic action movie that, if not for the already established franchise, would go straight to streaming/DVD.

They claim they're basing it off the comics and not the 1994 film, but have they reviewed the comics? Because based off the trailer, this isn't it. Like it follows the basic bare bones premise but otherwise is entirely off board. If they wanted to make a modern Crow they should have just done that and called it another sequel. To even call it a reboot is a slap in the face to both the comic series and the original film. Not everything needs to be modernized and turned into a hip hop themed Joker meets John Wick uber gore action flick to be good.

There are other Crow comics, with different characters that could be made into excellent movies. I can't understand why the Erik Draven and Shelly Webster story has to be remade. Great actors in this though. It may be a good movie but it's got a lot to live up to. The Crow (1994) is a masterpiece.

I don't have a problem with the movie just the fact that they used the name Eric draven they didn't have enough faith in the story they wanted to tell they had to tie in something from the original to spark interest. It seems from the trailer that Eric draven comes back that same day, but wasnt the idea that's it been a whole year and you come back into the lives of people who've mourned you? Eric's love to Shelly brought him back, that relationship along with the relationship he had with officer Albret and Sarah made the character more sympathetic and sad because he had to leave again once all was done.

Yes the OG is one of the best movies and it brings the darkness and emotion out of us. Love and pain are anchors in the movie and as someone who loves the OG I'm super excited for a modern adaptation. I was surprised at the hate for the new one based off of a trailer. Just because the OG holds a high standard doesn't mean you should write the remake off!! It seems this will be a better remake than most.

I don't know why everyone is so surprised, every subsequent Crow movie was progressively worse than the ones that came before it. Although this looks better than City of Angels and certainly better than Wicked Prayer (although the jury's still out on how it compares to Salvation), that isn't a supremely high bar. I'll see it, because that's what I do; watch movies, and just hope it's better than I expect it to be.

I am a big fan of the Alex Proyas/Brando Lee The Crow the movie, I am not a graphic novel fan of the crow. But the original movie is like experiencing a beautifully dark and poetic symphony of vengeance and redemption. The 2024 version feels like a bad cover band trying to play a classic hit out of tune. They would have been better off naming it something else entirely. Call it Bat Angel and you might argue it doesn’t look bad. Imo this is not The Crow.

The remake no one asked for. Do not get me wrong, I like this guy's acting, but the original CROW was PERFECTION and did not need a reboot. Its like these studios have run out of stories and only wish to fall back on recreating a franchise that already is perfect as it is.
