Very interesting. Its great to connect more dots and thank you for putting me onto EIR again. Did you know that one of the names considered when the ‘english’ royal family were changing their name to sound less German was Guelph. They went with Windsor instead. 😉

Yes! The Guelphs are a very old family. The German version of the family name was Welf. I understand that the family comes from the Este family or Ferrara. This family was, in the political sense, represented by pro-Papal banking houses and it famously came into conflict with the Ghibellines--the Italian version of Weibelingen which was the name of the castle of the Hohenstauffens. This faction represented the great northern city-builders who were aligned with the Holy Roman Emperor against the Pope. The Guelph v. Ghibellines conflict raged during the 14th and 15th centuries in Northern Italy, mostly. This conflict between the Holy Roman Emperor and the Pope was really a conflict which is (even today) ongoing between development and banking respectively.

Indeed! It's the same bag of tricks century after century!
