Day after day we worked together she would make at least one joke about how I dont like her overrated Goddess. And it showed me just how deep a little indifference can get under a person's skin. Even when I had bought tickets to Sick New World this year, she was bragging that she spend more on seeing one artist, meanwhile I got to see at least 10. I was the dumbest person in the world to her. She then walks over to where we are displaying the cup and tub, points at the cup and yells at me “I WANT THAT SMALL TUB” like ma’am…. I went on a date last night (with an adult woman) who was a total swifty and we went and saw the swift movie. It was a lot and I think you're right about the cult stuff. I was a pretty cool show TBH but the amount of people in the audience who were mimicking all the hand emotes exactly and sang along word for word to the entire 3 hour movie was insane to me. Either they've seen this movie every day since it came out or they've been rehearsing at home for dozens of hours.

I personally think it's odd that Taylor has never addressed this (to my knowledge at least). Unless the main motive is money in which she's just using this part of her fanbase and they haven't realized they're pawns in a corporate game. If I were her this behavior would creep me out and I'd be begging them to get the fuck away from me. Obsession is weird and creepy. They don't realize they'll never be her, meet her or be anything more than a financial supporter. Sounds to me like they're deluded and need a reality check.

That Doja Cat girl everyone was crapping on said one thing I found interesting, she "insulted" a "fan" of hers for using her legal full name as her Twitter handle, calling it weird. And it was weird to be honest. Calling yourself kittens, Barbies, Swifties, Beehive, Army (? I think this is the BTS one) is weird. Not because they have a cute group name, but because there's rarely been an instance you come across one of these people and not realize they're insane. If seeing people act crazy around you becomes your norm, and you're not insane yourself, it'll be weird. It'll be off-putting. I've seen videos pop into my feed insulting the Cat lady for being "mean" to fans and disrespecting them, but she wasn't wrong. I don't remember what else she did, but she wasn't wrong about someone being that obsessive being creepy.

Here’s a few competing theories I have (and most of these apply to a lot of celebrities). 1. Taylor Swift is too out of touch to realize the extent to which her fanbase is insane. This one has legitimacy in that she gives off the vibe of someone who doesn’t even know she has a Twitter account. 2. Taylor Swift knows her fanbase is insane, purposely stays away from the internet to distance herself from it, but won’t condemn it because she knows it’s why she’s Uber wealthy. 3. Taylor Swift knows her fanbase is insane, doesn’t like it, but her team has convinced her to let it go on due to it being the way she is Uber wealthy (and therefore gives them job security). 4. Taylor Swift knows her fans are insane and thinks it’s justified and that she’s entitled to it. At the end of the day it doesn’t actually matter which one is true or if none of them are, because the end result is the same.

nah, taylor is apparently beyond arrogant. Current example, shes currently SUING the college student who posted her (already public) flight logs and information on twitter, revealing shes the celeb who uses private jets the most. It's a mix of 2, 3 and 4 for different reasons: 4: it's convenient for her to hide behind her knowingly very toxic and agressive fanbase everytime she still needs a thick bubble shield from having to take accountability for all her toxicity, lies and immature manpulative BS; 3) There are indeed many overly greedy ppl surrounding her and working for TS The Brand, who heavily benefit from that money and are willing to do and say anything to keep taking advantage of the golden goose at all costs (and who don't have much of a moral compass esp when it comes to money so they really don't care about her doing the right thing like speaking out on causes that matter, still deemed controvertial (Genocide of Palestine, Covid safety at her crowded shows etc); and 2) She's FULLY aware of how toxic, delusional, psychotic, intolerant, blind by choice overall NUTS most of her fanbase has become, it scares her, it scares her how much her hardcore fans/The Cult projects so much onto her and feeds on delusions and other BS, but TS still does NOHING to counter balance it and it's on her bc she keeps feeding the cult's delusions & projections for more adulation, money and distractions, feeding her inner demons esp addictions, instead of looking at Reality the way it is and commit to profound & honest therapy work to learn, and finally grow the fck up: She has the crazy toxic fanbase she deserves bc has built and let it grown unchecked, like toxic plants grow to kill healthy plants in a garden. She was on the right track to make positive changes in 2018 & 19 but she's given up on that, her fanbase is too far gone by now, she's pushed the circus too far there's no turning back like before Covid. TS is her own worst enemy for real, she's very self sabotaging and full of toxic patterns she still refuses to address then treat for her own good, she can be petty AF, very poorly surrounded with very toxic and Narcissistic types, fake and overly shallow and selfish/selfinterested "friends" who ony care aout how they can benefit from her as much and for as long as possible so most of them keep enabling her addictions, "support" her poor and other bad decisions to serve their own interests, and bc she still has the emotional maturity of a 12 years old yet she's almost 35 years all of that combined is turning into a mess behind the scenes, despite a cracking not so thick mask and a LOT of lies and manufactured narratives including in her songs, ALL to keep SELLING THE PRODUCT. The TS prior to 2018 will continue to be shadowed by the Ego ruled and toxic dark side of her, until she finally gets sober & clean (and properly therapized) for her own good. Her life threatening addictions issues have only made everything worse these past 7 years, Girl is a mess, miserable, depressed, very unhappy behind the scenes, with the wrong people. She needs rehab and intensive therapy work, a total break from any areer project (that are only distractions to keep delaying her action on sobriety and therapy at this point) for 2 years to focus only on her physical & mental health, or she'd be dead of another OD, suicide/OD in less than 3 years. NO joke.

I think the issue with Swifties is, ultimately, they aren't even LISTENING to Swift's songs. Because you listen to her songs, the lyrics of them, you're in shock of just how toxic all of it is. She has songs about dating perfect men, but missing screaming at her ex (The Way I Loved You), she has songs about being so unstable with the men she's dating they have to where protection when they try to reconcile with her while she's manipulating them (Stay Stay Stay), she has songs about convincing men to break up with women who she considers bad for them so she can be with them (You Belong With Me), she has songs about breaking up couples literally on the day of their wedding (Speak Now). And these songs are her HITS. I could go on and on and on. She doesn't write love songs, she writes songs about manipulative and toxic behavior, and Swifties are too busy going "SHES JUST LIKE MEEEEEE" without thinking that if a dude was talking about this he'd be repulsive.
@thelongcon13 Жыл бұрын
the fact is lmao, the way i loved you is wildly speculated to be about a movie (the notebook lmao,) stay stay stay isn't about a relationship she was actually in just one that she hoped she could have in the future and speak now is FICTIONAL as in, not about her or anything that she'd ever do. you belong with me is the only song out of all of these that's actually about her and its STILL not bad because she isn't manipulating anyone lmao. all she says in the song is that the girl he's with sucks and that she knows him better which, is a totally valid thing for a SEVENTEEN-year-old to think. also maybe don't use songs she wrote when she was a teenager as a testament to her character now.

@amberconstant13 @amberconstant13 bro, first, if you want to look impartial, try not to have "taylors version" in your KZbin name. It's clear you're biased on the subject. Regardless, it doesn't matter one is based on a movie. It doesn't matter if one is a hopeful future relationship (which, for the record, doesn't excuse it at all, and makes it worse), and it doesn't matter if one is fictional. What matters is it's glorified. And it's pretty obvious it's been glorified because you're fully defending it, trying to use "lmao" to try to prove you don't care, when it's pretty obvious you do. Lemme put it like this- if your gal pal described a situation between her and her boyfriend that he was inflicting on her; that phones are getting thrown at her, that her bf is distant because he's still totally in love with his ex, who would you support?

I know a couple girls in LA who were given free tickets to the Taylor Swift movie on the demand that they sing in their seats in the theater. They (and a few other girls) got the tickets through a mutual friend who is one of Taylor's backup dancers. They were given tickets to several showings. It was a publicity stunt. Taylor and her dancers couldn't lead the charge themselves because if anybody noticed, it would be very embarrassing, so they just gave out tickets like candy to people that they could count on singing loudly at the showings. A lot of marketing is built on the backs of hired hands posing as "audience members." Just like clubs and magic shows.

Strange - one of the most important comments here is one of the least liked. Thank you very much for confirming this hysteria is not natural but fully and rigorously orchestrated.
@runthenumbers9698Ай бұрын
@@ВладимирКруглов-к9о I don't wanna be THAT cynical about it. Sometimes the audience just needs some leadership. Like Seinfeld for instance. Filmed in front of a live audience. Does the audience get instructions to laugh? Yeah. Does that mean they didn't enjoy the show? No. People loved to attend those filmings, they loved the show, and for the most part, it the laugh prompt would turn on when they were about to laugh anyway. They have hired dancers at clubs to keep the dance floor from fizzling out. These things aren't horribly unethical or unnatural. Except when magicians hire plants. THAT is in my opinion a breach of the contract between a magician and an audience member. In my opinion, since magic is the art of deceiving one's eyes, when you call someone on stage, that person is a stand-in for your eyes and should function as such. Therefore, it's dishonest to have that person lie to the audience. And Tay-Tay is hardly the only person to do this btw. Every time you see a concert, it's always a big gathering of 18-22 year old gorgeous girls who all know all the words. Doesn't matter if it's Tay-Tay or a lesser known name, they always have at least one section of these plants or groupies. Somehow, when Justin Timberlake reaches into the crowd... there's never a gay guy clawing at him. It's always gorgeous girls. What a coincidence. These camera angles are planned ahead of time, and there are people who plant or herd these girls to where the camera needs them. My favorite is when you're watching Nickelodeon... Kids' Choice Awards or one of their live shows. Who's in the audience? A bunch of kids? How did that happen? Did those kids all drive there and buy the matching t-shirts? Of course not. The parents let their kids go to a kids' section, and the cameras focus on the kids section to give the illusion that it's mostly kids in attendance. So yeah... I just bring up the girls I know who were effectively audience plants because I think it's clever marketing.
@ВладимирКруглов-к9оАй бұрын
@@runthenumbers9698 Well, there's a difference between clever (?) marketing and inducing full-blown hysteria and cultish behaviour. No-one would begrudge her success if it was organic, in fact her early triumphs were applauded as a just thing for "real music". Compare with the recent stuff which concerns more and more people already. Also, yeah you can push the good thing if it doesn't fly immediately. But artificial launching and sustaining is bad, there should be no doubt about it.
@runthenumbers9698Ай бұрын
@@ВладимирКруглов-к9о I don't know what Taylor Swift's "recent stuff" is... but I doubt it's THAT bad. We talking about her pollution? The Kamala endorsement? What? Assuming that Taylor Swift isn't guilty of any class-A felonies, I just don't think there's a justification to HATE the woman (a woman you've never met and has done nothing to you). As for the contrast between her early successes and her current successes... EVERYBODY loves a rags to riches story. NOBODY is going to hate on a 15-year-old girl singing about... being a 15-year-old girl. People in general have no problem whatsoever uncritically hating on a billionaire. I'm not one of those "LEAVE BRITTNEY ALONE!" guys. I don't think Tay-Tay is crying herself to sleep at night about what WE think. You can hate on whatever celebrity you want to. It's a free country... But don't get too self-important about it. Don't act like they DESERVE this level of scrutiny. it's hard to deserve the scrutiny of hundreds of millions of people. She's fine. @@runthenumbers9698 "I just don't think there's a justification to HATE the woman" - well, you're in the wrong here, I'm afraid. People are perfectly entitled to hate her - she's everywhere, she stifles the music scene, she's infantile and vapid, in short she embodies everything that is bad with the current state of society. There are plenty of reasons to hate her. "15-year-old girl singing about... being a 15-year-old girl" - it's not that simple. She was a very particular 15-year old - whiney, bitter, spiteful, toxic, irresponsible and cruel. For a while people were fine with that hoping it's just a phase she'll grow out of sooner or later. But seeing her nearly thrice that age and still the same is profoundly disturbing, downright dangerous even, given her current status. "People in general have no problem whatsoever uncritically hating on a billionaire" - yes. But they can also hate critically - which is, I'm sure, is what's happening with TS. "You can hate on whatever celebrity you want to" - thank you very much for the kind permission! I never knew I could😁 "it's hard to deserve the scrutiny of hundreds of millions of people" - but one can get under the skin of so many. There won't be much scrutiny but the scorn will be profound. I have no doubt current year is the last TS will have anything resembling relevance. The story of riches to rags will be most pleasant to behold, can't wait actually. "It's just marketing" - yes! And that's exactly what you wrote in the first comment, exposing the ways she was made "popular". Why are you wiggle the tail, so to speak, denying then confirming it? You're a fan but carelessly said the quiet part loud and now try to "manage the damage"? It very much looks like exactly that.

My ex couple years ago was a swiftie and we had a really bad argument one day towards the end of our relationship, Well trying to talk and rebuild our relationship afterwards, Taylor ironically made a new album the same day and she was obsessed about this song in it (don't remember the name of the song) that she shoved it in my face saying that she's singing about us in the song, when the song was just hypocritical about the situation we were in. I think we in the west just have a massive mental health problem. Almost all men are depressed and lonely and start to grow hateful towards the world around them while almost all women are getting paranoid, toxic, demanding and oversensitive. Imo its pretty clear that this is due to social media fucking peoples brains up, most gen z teens grew up in the internet so they had no chance to become normal. These band cults have been a thing since forever but never before was it this bad. I remember around 2010 when people found out Justin smoked weed and this one picture went viral where this fan was so angry she carved his name into her forearm, it was gut wrenching. Never in my life have I seen something so insane from a fan.

Nah it’s on the same level. Probably already happened for the swifts just nobody reported it

I remember hearing about that and 4-Chan decided to do some trolling on Twitter and made #cuttingforbieber or something like that
@JesseDiebolt Жыл бұрын
That was nowhere close to this because Beliebers were mostly preteens. Swifties are all ages. You’ve got fully grown women shrieking in a movie theater and obsessing over her relationships. Calling Travis Kelce “father” and handing him friendship bracelets…. Come on.

I’m sure if you go to LA, someone, Somewhere in the city if lost souls started a Taylor swift church whose motto is, “ to swift, we laugh and cry. In swift, we trust evermore.”

Another reason to hate my current city (Chicago). We have traditional masses to this day. We have torn down a few historic churches, but many still exist (and are restored). I would do/pay anything just to come out there. You cultured people (especially where I'm at) don't understand.

For the past two months, I've gone from being completely apathetic about Taylor Swift to completely hating her. I see her name, and my eyerolling has become a Pavlovian-like response at this point. I'm so sick of seeing her everywhere. To me, her music sounds like paint drying on the wall, in the distant background. It goes in one ear and comes out the other; it makes absolutely no impression on me whatsoever. How she dominates the media and is the most popular artist of all time baffles me. It also doesn't help that her fans are batshit crazy.

That’s exactly how I feel. Her songs aren’t terrible, and they’re not great. They’re just painfully average. They’re just so basic and forgettable and don’t make me feel anything at all. And I genuinely tried to find some that I liked but couldn’t lol.

I find her voice annoying, sounds like she's whining and not singing that too makes me dislike her already average songs

If y’all want to really trigger them talk about how her dad paid for her first album and how she’s never written a song by herself.

And when Damon Albarn called her out for this, she blasted him on Twitter until he was harassed into silence.

Of course you're gonna trigger people if you are spreading misinformation, she has written most of her songs, with sole writing credits for 119 songs and co-writing credits for 102 songs Although the part about her dad is not exactly fake but honestly I don't get why people get mad about her family supporting her career especially at the beginning
