You don't need a deeper connection to someone to write a song about them, even what sounds like a love. The best song I've yet written was a love song about a friend I was starting to develop a crush on and didn't want to. So I went overboard on the lyrics and the next day, the crush was gone and I was able to stay just friends. So, if he says it's just about sex, it's true. No problem reading more into it, just take it as your interpretation and not necessarily his.

Looks like you were digging the fancy footwork of Ian in the beginning ! Ian & the guitarist Billy Duffy are the only consistant members of The Cult. Others , like drummer Joey Tempesta , floated in and out over the years.

If you aren't moving to this song, you need to check your pulse. For me, this is one of the greatest guitar hooks in rock. Great review as always, Jamel.

Here I am: 13 years old. It's 2003. I make turn 4 onto that seemingly giant speedway front straight in a white-over-red Viper GTS-R and virtual sunlight fills the screen before me. I hear this song start. What memories.

This is from the Love album. Great songs from beginning to end. This album is more "Alternative" rock as compared to their next album "Electric" which is considered more "Hard" rock. All of it always has the Ian Astbury Goth feel to it.

So, stories from the grandma! I was 13 when this was released, and I had rented a VHS tape with the video hits of the year, because we didn't have MTV in my home country. I remember when I reached this song I was like "hold up" and went and bought the vinyl the very next day!

Saw a cover band for The Cult back in like 1999 or so and it was amazing. Cant recall what their name was but it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Cant even imagine the real band doing it any better. The Cult really wrote some great songs.

I love this song! Was blown away the first time I heard it: the intro, the music, the lyrics, Ian's voice(!), the psycadelic part in the middle...It's a sexy song for sure
