Goosebumps what can I say...so freaking beautiful. No band, and I mean no band, will ever be as awesome as The Cure. Robert Smith is a musical genius.

It honestly makes me SO SAD to know that one day I will die, and never be able to listen to this ever again... Such a powerful, emotion inducing song. Even after hearing it (quite literally) thousands of times, it still gives me chills and makes the hairs stand up on my neck, EVERY TIME. Pretty sure this is my favorite song from The Cure. In fact, this entire album is an absolute masterpiece.

At the age of 75 I get odd looks from people when I play this music. But it’s complete and envelopes you and you become part of it. Smith is a genius songwriter but it took a long time before he got the award he deserved. I’ll have this at my funeral, together with The Weaver’s Answer by The Family. But that’s a long way off yet, I hope!

While the band played this song, i realized i was married to the wrong woman... The Cure have been in my life for happy & sad times. Took my son to see them last May. May God Bless The Cure for all the wonderful music & lyrics. Plus the concerts thru the years were awesome!!

Storm, thunder, a night like this, a night of nostalgia, a night to go out swimming past the surf, past the breakers, past the point of no return, to sink, to surrender, to drown, to never again wonder, to never again regret,, a muse, a song, a gasp, I see my god I see, a sound and fury, then nothing.
@dukeon14 жыл бұрын
I've always loved the way Robert puts a whole bar in between the last "The very last thing before I go..." and "I shall kiss you." That little bit of tension is genius. Roger Waters did something similar in leaving space (for reverb) between phrases in "Us and Them". Brilliant songwriters know that sometimes, less is more.
