Arc 6 will have hard time in anime because it relies on narration. But arc 7 and 8 went over the top, and i absolutely love those. Problem with those two is that the spectacle will be impossible to animate and it needs several EX novels as build up.

As someone who has read every side story that pertains to the Vollachia arcs and some more, I disagree that it *"needs"* them. The biggest problem comes down to the primary antagonist and how many people have either ignored and felt detached from them or see them as confusing and difficult to understand, so it would be ideal if there was a movie adaptation of the side story they initially appeared in.

Yeah... the latest arcs are something out of a shounen genre. I mean, its an Isekai and all, action should be expected, but sometimes its too much. I much prefer the mystery/horror aspects of Arc 6. Then again, with everything the novel throws at us with Story-Breaker power after Story-Breaker power (like seriously, Soul Marriage is OP as fuck; dragon breathes can be stopped by a curse... somehow...; The main villain has a fucking orbital magic surgical cannon... like seriously, Re Zero world REALLY sucks to live in), I kinda can get through.

They're preparing for the final act. Arc 8 will likely be the end of act 2. (Act 1 ended with arc 4). So the fighting fits in. Arc 9 seems to be going to the slower nature again according to the authors interviews.

one thing that you seem to have not considered. the LN. I had a fill complains about rezero season two only to learn that my complains were not because the anime was rushing it, but because the LN removed obscene amounts of world building. You even mentioned arc VI and i agree arc VI phenomenal. But i remeber that i was reading arc vi and raise a concern that if the author would end romoving a scene from that arc from the LN ( the one where characters turn on each other). Then someone come saying he had removed but another one corrected and said was kept ( althought others were removed). So using the WN as guide on what expect of the anime seems to be kinda of bad idea since many things can and will be changed in the LN.

Keep in mind that before finishing the Arc 6 Light novels Tappei was adapting web novel content he had written years ago. When he was writing the LNs for arcs 1-5 he had a finished version of the arc and could therefore make major overarching changes to the arc structure. However now that he's caught up to the web novel, he's writing both volume by volume and thus he can't make these huge overarching changes anymore.

Arc 6's light novels honestly clarified some things from the webnovel, I mean in the novel where Subaru with amnesia goes outside the tower this time the mechanism for bringing him back makes more sense as he was actually passing through several doors unlocked by having a witch factor, and not just suddenly climbing into it via the sand and tunnels based on smelling a scent from miasma. Adding the doors to show how he was almost locked out and how many witch factors he had was waaaaay better than the tunnels simply narrowing and miasma getting more intense, unlocking the doors clearly increased the miasma turning them on each other. As for "worldbuilding" things being cut, I think you mean like witchs' backstories, bits from the tea parties etc. Information gained there is just gonna be moved elsewhere if it's important... Which is incredibly easy because it hasn't been relevant for several arcs now.

I'm caught up on the web novel and still can't make up my mind if I love it or not. The story didn't go the direction I wanted it to. But I like hearing other folks' opinions and thinking about it all. One thing is certain, the later arcs are very different from the early ones. The storytelling style is entirely different. Which has its good and bad points. I most enjoyed the style of arcs 1-3 and they remain my favorite. But I loved them so much I can't find it in me to hate anything the rest of the arcs do, even if they don't go where I wanted them to.

Arc 8 talks and more.. Arc 8 deals with Sphinx and the purpose of Echidna creating Sphinx. It also shows how strong "a clone Echidna" Is.. Given that actual Echidna might be way more menace to deal with. We also got to know that Echidna was Al's sensei!? (Is that really true, I heard people say that on reddit.. I'm puzzled on how can that be possible) Though, the real cooking actually lies in the felt camp side story where they revealed Pandora! Arc 9 should be a massive W that Arc 7 and Arc 8 haters are Probably waiting for.

I don't know if Arc 9 will be what people are expecting it to be... From what the author has said, it seems like it will be another arc that doesn't necessarily directly focus on the Witch Cult. Two of the Sin Archbishops are at the Royal Capital right now, which is where Arc 10 is going to be set at. Thus, unless Capella appears in Arc 9, or the Royal Capital is also visited within the arc, the implied direction of the arc feels somewhat different from people's expectations...

I've said it before, somewhere while arc 4 (season 2) was my personal favourite because of the lore and character development we got from everyone involved, arc 5 is probably the craziest arc in the novel (in terms of action and fights we are going to get). This is the same worry the Vinland Saga author had with season1 to season2. The answer is balance. You add just enough of the content that lures people in who are more the average, not heavily tied into series viewers. Vinland Saga season 2 had very little action but it did very well and employed the strategy mentioned. Re:Zero is going to use the lessons learned from Vinland Saga. I am very comfortable saying the risk is low for failure here.

It’s a sort of “finalized rough draft” and that is on which cult translations. Reading from after the anime is easy enough but as the original guy said getting a translation for the old story is difficult. I will say this. You are currently on KZbin which means you have some sort of device capable of e reading. I suspect you can buy the kindle version?

The 2023 net sales data for Kadokawa tells a story of management incompetence. It's make or break for Re:Zero because print sales for 2023 are not in it it's top 10. This is a little deceptive because merch is big for Re:Zero but does that go to Kadokawa or the studio? On the other hand, the print sales leader for Kadokawa by a decent margin was Mushoku Tensei but it gave the animation rights to Toho. I think MT breaks SAO's streak. Merch is not that big for MT. Animation makes multiples of print so Kadokawa threw away their largest product by not investing in the animation. Instead, they are rushing out audiobooks,, opening sales in latin american countries and even Italy recently. Toho must be mopping up but that could have been Kadokawa's money.

The web novel is a lot longer. It has more lore, but also more character interactions that don't progress the story at all and just show them bickering and teasing each other. You know, stuff that isn't crucial is what gets trimmed for the official publication. That's why I think the light novels for strictly the reading experience are better unless you're a big time lore hound.

I want to remind everybody that anime is line for line adaptation of Light novels not Web novels. If you read story on Witch cult translations and not from physical copy, there is going to be some difference. I often see people say that anime adaptation skipped a lot of stuff but if you read LNs, that is simply not true. I read first 20 volumes and I can only name two noticeable skipped things and those are Echidna's leaving the Santuary and Al's origin. Everything else is perfectly adapted.

S2 really needed more than 25 episodes but Kadokawa probably didnt want to risk it. After the massive success of S2, Kadokawa probably allowed the idea of there being 38-42 episodes for S3. So hopefully with Kadokawa's backing, S3 will be incredible. and honestly, im fine with just ok animations for the arc 5 fights, on the condition that White Fox puts everything they have into that Garfiel fight. Re Zero has also been on my mind lately, since I’ve been doing my rewatch in preparation for season 3 rn. I’m interested in reading it but witchcult doesn’t have arc 3 and the light novels are lowkey prohibitively expensive, especially compared to western fantasy novels (which just offer more bang for your buck per volume). Wish we could get omnibuses for light novels because as a fan of western fantasy novels too, those bois get thiccc, something light novels very much aren’t.

Perhaps analogies don't work on you so instead of a woman beating up 15 guys let's say a child's mind is different than an adults. I'm not sure what impressed you but it could have easily been done when he was his natural age . Arc 6 was the get Rem back arc and it just ended up feeling like no payoff.

I think this was a trash thing Tappei did, but it is what it is. Also no Subaru and Emilia are not dating, Emilia is trying to discover the feelings she has for Subaru because she doesn't understand how to love a man as a woman. The anime just decided not say that in the anime during the baby scene. However, Emilia is in love with Subaru but is still trying to make sure what she feels is exactly what she wants with Subaru.

I hated arc 7, and I haven't read 8, but by extension, I hate it too. Arc 6 had such a powerful message and had such a climax to continue on from just for a random teleport to occur. I won't go into further details in the interest of spoilers but he literally just threw out the main plotline and added the weakest cast we've ever seen from Rezero. The new characters were hideous. The only exception I would give is to Todd, and if I'm being really kind, maybe Vincent. The plot was random. It threw out the meaning of arc 6 despite it being the most powerful moment in the entire series and the culmination of Subarus development in every arc till now. I'm someone who loves stories more than anything else. I've been excited for new mushoku tenseii, konosuba, the jujutsu kaisen and chainsaw man manga. All of these have been on my mind and it's always rewarding after I've done work to catch up with them. But I haven't thought about season 3 of Rezero once since I watched the trailer. Arc 7 was so miserable to read that I no longer care for the story. Even then I think its a little ridiculous to think season 3 will be good, the action wasn't great in the original source/webnovel but there's surely no chance this studio can manage it. Afterall, as much as I like s1 and s2 of Rezero the fights have always been a downgrade where they take major factors out that make them weird and interesting. Roswaal vs Puck+Ram is the best example it was far better in the light novel than the anime and showcases why Roswaal is such a terrifying figure. My point is even though Im a big Rezero fan and its my second favourite after Konosuba, I'm not sure I'll even watch the new season.

Honestly, the last season of Re:Zero turned a lot of people off the anime and with good reason. I hope this season is far better and rekindles what season one brought us in hype and excitement. They just have to fix the awful pacing issues of least season and this next season will be great.

You can never tell what someone means when they mention Re:Zero season 2 has awful pacing lmao. Half the people think it's too fast and the other half think it's too slow. imo I think the pacing was just right, every episode had multiple crazy or hype moments, my only issue with season 2 was the animation and some cut content.

I get people complain about the dialogue not being the best in some places but overall I loved season 2 more than season 1... but recently I learned I'm not the common view on that.

@@ShadowAraun Nah, I and most people agree with you on that. Season 2 was one of the most highly rated seasons of all time. Most episodes consistently got on to r/all of reddit. (Something only attack on titan season 3 and 4 could do). The only people who dislike season 2 are some web novel readers and tiktok kids with adhd. I've watched season 2 over a dozen times without ever getting bored. (Although most of my rewatches were through reactors).
