maybe the mountains weren't a difficulty selection, but the person who drew them had multiple done to see which looks better with the entrance of the cave.

@10:48 The smallest mountain is not labeled "No 3", it is labeled "No 1~3". The "1" mostly blends in with the thick grid line. So the first mountain is around 1 through 3, the second is 4, and the third is 5. EDIT: Also, the screen mock-up uses the middle "No 4" mountain, not the largest mountain. The mock-up mountain is 14 blocks wide at its base, which matches the "No 4" mountain. (The small mountain is 8 blocks wide, the large mountain is 20 blocks wide and extends all the way to the right edge of the screen.

Final Document comments: it appears to be a sprite call sheet. They often only have half parts as they can just mirror them - they also often can orient them however they want to. Just my thoughts

Its scope is pretty limited for now, and Im going to try restoring the "original" dungeon length for at least the moon dungeon since I'm still blown away by that. Im going to try and implement beta sprites for enemies too, like the Ghini, Boulder, Octorok, Gleeok, Aquamentus, etc. Could be a cool little half-hour experience

There's a few Im thinking about based on that design document earlier, particularly the fire enemy and moth-like thing since they could probably have the most unique behaviors. Item wise I have a few ideas, but Ill keep my lips sealed for know lol

This video was really exciting to research since a lot of the details of the pre-release materials haven't really been dissected at all, like the earliest iteration of the map is something I haven't seen discussed at all prior to my research! Being one of, if not the, first person to fully go through and compile a lot of the details alongside new discoveries of my own was an incredibly fulfilling way to spend the past 2 months, haha. I'm really happy you enjoyed the video, and thank you once again!

There's a dogu doll type of enemy in StarTropics. I wonder if it's just the 2 development teams using the same inspiration, or if they where using the unused Zelda enemy. Guess we'll never truly know. Speaking of Zelda & StarTropics, I always thought that Pipit in Skyward Sword looks a lot like Mike, which I can't tell if that's on purpose or just a coincidence. I could very easily believe both at this point.
