Miyuki in Kaguya-sama references a suitor in the *Tale of Princess Kagaya* that was tasked to bring her a jewel from a dragon. In that tale however, he was unable to complete his impossible task. This Miyuki here in Kaguya-sama surpassed his counterpart from the original tale that he is named after, as he was able to successfully present the jewel from the dragon to Kaguya. I love how deep the connections this series has with the Tale of Princess Kaguya.

As crazy as it sounds for a romcom, this is not even the halfway point; This was chapter 135 or so, and the series is gonna be 280 chapters long (it's about to end in just a couple weeks, actually). On top of this series being so cute and funny and all that, this is one of the things that separates it from other romcoms! Almost all romcoms end at the confession or shortly after (hence why this finale felt like a finale for the entire series), but there's still 2-3 more season to go! (There's already a movie announced too!)

Last day of asking Ruff to read the manga... The anime ended at the middle of chapter 138. There are a total of 281 chapters and the manga is currently at chapter 279. If you want to know what will happen next I'll describe it in 3 words. It's gonna be more "chaotic," "romantic," and there will be some "action" going forward.

@@jdoggivjc Well, it seems like with those two chapters and those two characters, the way it was all worded leaves us with a hint I feel. As well as the fact that each chapter that has dealt with a character has had that this is the final chapter of these characters, yet oddly iirc that was missing from those chapters. Like the last chapter was Fujiwara last chapter and it had that heading. So it's my hope that of course this is the end of the main story for the two main MCs Kaguya, but that we get a new manga moving forward with new characters and the two aforementioned characters.

I think the autor managed the impasse really well, they didn't confessed yet, but already showed each other their feelings. Both of them wants the other to confess first because: 1 - Miyuki thinks Kaguya is too much for him, and if he confesses first, he'll always be at the mercy of her decision 2 - Kaguya sees Miyuki as a genuinely good person and admires him for it, so she wants him to show (by confessing first) that she "deserves" him Plus, the name of the manga is "Kaguya Wants to be Confessed To", just for record.

Yeah the premise of the story is that if they confess they lose, which seems to be an impossible impasse preventing the story from ever truly developing, which is typical for many long running romance manga/anime. But Aka Akasaka, the mangaka showed the perfect loophole to his impossible impasse in that instead of confessing, they can just convey their feeling for each other through other means, Miyuki with the balloon, festival stuff, and asking Kaguya to go to Stanford with him, and Kaguya with the kiss. Being so hung up about a confession is kinda childish and not truly the point, and this series realizes that and deals with it in the perfect way while remaining true to the characters.

In the manga, the balloons were all a bunch of different colors, so them grabbing a red and blue one was a lot more plausible. You can pretty much ignore the after credits scene as it's anime original and skips roughly 60 chapters, especially since the movie is almost certainly going to be picking up right after Kaguya talking with Hayasaka about the kiss.

You think this is great wait until the anime movie comes out. You can react that. Boy these anime people don't know what they are missing especially when the 4 pages comes along. So for the rest of you people you can read the manga starting at chapter 138 or wait until the anime movie comes out to the public after Japanese theaters are done with it in the winter time. Right now the anime ended right around chapter 138. The manga will end at 281 and it is right now at chapter 279. The mangaka Aka Akasaka also has another manga series called Oshi No Ko which follows AquaMarine Hoshino and the under belly of the Japanese idol and entertainment industry. It is way way darker and the complete opposite of Kaguya. That will be turned into an anime starting in 2023. Hell they are even getting a 90 minute premiere from this. So all I can tell you is either wait until the movie is out or start reading chapter 138 in the manga.
