Yeah, not only is it kind of lame for the original weapons to barely move but it made it difficult to tell when the super shotgun's about to finish reloading.

As someone who grew up with Doom 64 I really appreciate the time and work that went into this mod. I even loved how they D64-ified the chaingunners, revenants, archviles (though it's just the Doom II sprite with different contrast) and the Spider Mastermind. Do keep in mind that in regular Doom II that there is a bit of slowdown in Map 30 due to the different textures and lighting (even moreso if you're using the Hi-Res Texture pack). Other than that, I love this mod!

I actually found a sick sprite animation for the archvile. This demon has a Xenomorph shaped head and 2 extra arms. Like an alien Goro from Mortal Kombat.

I started playing the first Doom and went through to the Nintendo 64 version, a truly amazing advance in the game's graphics! The thing is that you got used to the more basic graphics and then, suddenly, there's this cinematic quality Doom which just blows you away; now to be able to get any Doom combined with the realism of 64 will be beyond belief!

If id Software decided to make a sequel to Doom II in 1995 instead of waiting on the Quake engine to be completed, maybe this is what a Doom 3 that came out in late 1995 or early 1996 might've looked like.

I have always said that Doom 64 should have been called 'Doom 3'. I'm not criticizing the real Doom 3, as although I don't like it, lots of people think Doom 3 is really great, so for them I'm glad it came out, but to me, Doom 3 should have been called something non-Doom related, as it just didn't feel Doom-ish. Maybe id could have called the game that became Doom 3, 'Incursion' or 'Outbreak', or something, and given it a non-Doom related story-line.
