Should've stuck with the high drive all along. That D7E was a terrible tractor.

So we now have a tiny bit smaller D8.... But damn that's a nice cab! Thanks for showing us Mr pushy! Seen that you got a bit of time in the seat, what are your thoughts of it?

High drive sucks way harder on chains and sprockets.. Half life of conventional track drive. A old cat D7-D8 out push that hunk of shit any day of the week and not ask for a regen or any of that other crap. Those fancy backup cameras are $30 on Amazon..

Those new series dozers look like they’re a beast. I’d love to rub off some paint on one of those new tractors.

My D7R was my fav ! Had a brand new 2004 that thing was so sick. All electronic. Would push like my D8. Man I miss it. So sweet loved the joystick blade control. Such a great machine hands down the best dozer. CAT

Great to see the high drive back. Was hoping to see an XE version and a heavy PAT blade option. Maybe its in the works who knows.

Thats what I was thinking too. Electronics might be great when the machine is new. But as it ages and the electronics start to go South.........

Who calls it a high drive? No one ever! High track, high track!!! Would have figured you guys would have put a D8 cab on them. So much bigger and roomier. Is a LGP pipeline machinery or a 6 way blade available??? Just look at the John Deere 950K, it’s available in a six way blade.
@rogermeeker37894 жыл бұрын
High Drive, High Track, Elevated Sprocket.....let's settle on the German version....The Delta Drive! The cab is actually larger than the D8T cab, it's quite a growth over the old D7R cab. Yes, pipeline versions are available with Angle blades, winches, even sweeps. Thanks!

I personally would like to see them put some effort into their crawler loader line. I know they put a little work into them but not much. You can do anything this tractor could do with a 973K and a heck of a lot more. Especially with a quick coupler. I think the only reason cat doesn't promote crawler loaders much is because they know contractors are brainwashed I to buyi g a dozer, wheel loader and an excavator to do the same job a crawler loader can do by itself 80 percent of the time. And I am a hoe guy, big time. For 36 - 37 years or so.
@tommyw.94244 жыл бұрын
You run over the same ground a loooot of times getting work done with a track loader. The reason they aren't promoted as heavily is because they're very regional. I've grown up on loaders but outside of the midwest they're very scarce. Plus track loaders burn tons of fuel. On our jobs we've found that you can make more money with 2/3 a tank in the 314C in a day on a demo job than in a week of going through a tank every day in a 953C. Loaders just can't cut grade like a dozer either or dig like a hoe.

Automatic this automatic that, touch screen, blade control, grade control, shift control....gees dont even have to be an "operator any more! I guess your called a "monitor controller" Four years in Operating Engineers school? for what? the machine does everything! lol I learned by the seat of my pants and could eyeball a grade as good as "blade control" and no cushie cab either.
@landiv84 жыл бұрын
cletrac 12c there is going to come a point where the operator in a lot of circumstances is no longer required full stop.

Don't know why they keep making the D7...one of operators on the job said the D7 is for the guy who can't afford a D8 and doesn't want a D6...Go figure.
@Peterbilt3594 жыл бұрын
Dinoxt12 I've got a 7 G. I've run 5H, 6s, owned 2 7s and 3 D8s, and 9H. They all have there place my 7 is LGP blade is 13 ft 4 inch wide. No 6 is going to run with it and wieghs 50000. D8 is much heavier harder to move for smaller job and a lot more fuel. I can move this new 7 easy. I just can't afford it. It's probably 325,000
@boom-rl7me4 жыл бұрын
@@Peterbilt359 it's probably more than that... I run an 8R and a 6R, it the " right material " the 6 will move just as much as the 8.

@@Peterbilt359 In a few years you can get a used one for that. A new D-6 is well over $400K

jdofmemi I don't know how they afford them. I hate the payments. I bought a new 415F and near new 430F from dealer wheeler machinery last year 160,000 I about died. I can't find work that pays good enough to cover them.
