i dont like the idea that we should think abt other people's bads... that is very toxic and very singaporean mindset where you are unhappy seeing other people succeed. i want to see people's successes it makes me motivated and happy for them. i hate the idea where people only think badly of u just cuz they have inferiority complex. it is a problem they have to fix.

Saying to “compare trauma” when someone shares that they had a traumatic past really lacks empathy :(( anyways, thanks for this podcast, really enjoy the career and social life topics! Personally in my mid 20s too, trying to build my own small biz as well… it’s really not easy to build up the skills, building a business in general is definitely very glorified online 😓

think its essential to separate your work from your identity. If you leave a job you've been in for years and have tied your sense of self to it, you might feel lost afterward! and yes linking self-worth to your job also isn't good esp if you are still figuring out whether it is the right job for you!

just read the comments section of outcast s'pore's past 4 videos. about 4 ppl were spewing hate on yanwei, in east asia ppl call actors arrogant (for merely just smiling) this cancel culture has become normal. East asian culture, its too fixated on not boasting. I believe in God so yeah i believe in humility tooo, I derive humility by "God gave me this, and God can take it away" But having to bow down to ppl constantly as kpop stars do is too much. Even if a small actor merely says "I think im famous" will get them cancelled and treated like a digital pariah "lets cast stone on him and drive him away from our land"
