@@ViDEOGiRLX2 EXACTLY WHAT IM SAYING, you’re spot on. Listen I had like really strong 3 song run on TikTok in 2022 and I couldn’t recapture the same PEAK numbers wise. for real, i'm 27 going on 28 soon, been making music for a bit over 10 years now and started gigging as a DJ in 2023, trying to get on the same level as The Dare here. I had established a very small following (1k+ followers on soundcloud) in 2016 but i got so burnt out by 2017 from constantly releasing music, i took a mental break for two years, barely releasing stuff. I definitely lost whatever momentum i had going for me, but i got into my local scene and been making something for myself here as well as building a community with fellow DJs and band friends. I wanna try to venture out to NYC since i'm only 2 to 3 hours away. I got a lot of good unreleased tracks in my repertoire, mostly remixes, that i plan on putting out. Slowly working on an album that i wanna feature some local band friends on. Sorry for the long ass text, but all that to say: I'm right there with you as an independent artist trying to achieve success! My ultimate goal is financial stability and ensuring my mother never has to work again. The best thing we can do is not give up, as long as we remain passionate about what we do and what we create! 💜

Just today I thought that I‘d love to see a video about brat in context of the indie sleaze revival. Looking at charli‘s bday party photos gave such a strong (as a millenial, throwback) vibe with the flash, the outfits, everything. The Dare fits in perfectly. Thank you for another amazing vid, love the content

I didn't know anything about him. I just knew him in terms of his collaboration with Charli. I've read some interesting things about him online but honestly, I did not have any opinion about him. Glad I watched your video and learned more about him. I really enjoyed his production in Guess (you can def hear the daft punk influence) and will for sure be checking out his other projects. Also Didn't know he would collab with romil hemnani 👀👀, will have to check his debut when it comes out.

As someone who lives 2-3 hours from NYC who produces club and electro/bloghouse style tracks, DJs the same style as The Dare, i became motivated by him recently. I'm trying to get on his level, since i'm doing something similar just on a much smaller scale in my local music scene. Not gonna lie though, it is sort of an 80/20 split between motivation and jealousy. Only because as someone who also loves and is heavily influenced by Ed Banger Records and those French artists, seeing him up there with Pedro Winter (Busy P) and SebastiAn, i get that feeling of "damn, that should be me". That's when the motivation kicks in and i continue to work on more music. I hope that slight jealousy becomes admiration soon enough. I don't wanna be a "rival", i want to collaborate with him and like minded people and just create together, have a good time doing it and sharing it with the world. It's refreshing to know he grew organically and figured out a way to reach a much bigger following for himself

This video is amazing! I just also wanted to add that the dare had opened for Yves Tumor in their LA show back in October 2023. Im pretty sure the two met at freakquencies since they post each other’s parties on instagram. That was a pretty big show and I remember he definitely got a lot of attention for his EP and even had a full setlist, even though the two don’t have similar music the crowd loved the party vibe he gives. I searched him up cause I was like who is this dude in the suit in one of her videos. Many don't really find him appealing cause he is just some indie guy with no real “talent” (their words not mine). Supposedly he had connections to the industry through friends and was able to make music like that.

I like his stuff. But as someone that remembers this all the first time around, his influences are so obvious to see, that we will have to see if he has any real longevity, or he will just fade into song writing obscurity once this trend dies out. For me, he almost an actual mashup of LCD Soundsystem, Calvin Harris and The Whip, with a little Le Tigre sprinkled on there for good measure.

Post Covid implies Post Covid Lockdown. It's a normal thing to say and doesn't need to be spelled out. Doesn't mean no one still has Covid, I just did.
@Fenilee3 ай бұрын
@@ProdSDM-kn5mf how do you know that's what videogirl meant? They could have meant post-mask mandates, post-people caring, post-lots of things that could have been clarified, but "post-covid" is a term that seeks to double down on the status quo and ignore reality. It does not acknowledge the present state of covid. And you are arguing with me as nassau county, ny just banned masks, you do NOT have to be on the side of folks who are don't care if disabled people die. If folks are not openly masking or openly supporting disabled people, then they are upholding the status quo. And the status quo is violence.

Funny all the people saying "can't believe he is American not British" - to a British music fan he is exactly what we expect to come out of NYC! Although I think the NYC and British music scenes have always had a two-way street of inspiration flowing between them- and that's cool :)
