This video was immediately hit by the dreaded demonetization. KZbin isn’t my career at all so losing the money isn’t all that bad. However, I would like to see my channel grow and demonetization kind of suppresses the video. So, if you enjoy it please leave a like, comment, and share it with your friends. While this may be my last iceberg I do make videos covering other obscure and bizarre topics concerning film, with a lot more depth and a little bit of my own personality sprinkled in. So, hopefully I’ll see y’all in my future endeavors. Take care and, as a wise man once said, please have a damn good one.

You gotta love how directors nowadays at least see the poor taste in releasing a film after the death of a star, regardless of its relation to the movie while an entire movie's name was changed to capitalize on a person's death back in the 60s.
@inferiordior
@inferiordior 3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, those are blurred lines for me. When you put it into perspective, cancelling a whole art project that a few tens/hundreds/thousands of people worked on and also put money into all because a person coincidentally died it to much. If someone died in a scene, then fuck yea, do what's obvious and make right of the situation by dropping the project, redoing the scene, or just cutting it out entirely. It sounds harsh, but i guaranteed if a background character died or some shit, a whole movie wouldn't be canceled unless it actually had an effect on people or caused uproar. Idk, that's just my rant lol, it just really confuses me when people drop long and tedious things after something that could be worked around happens

@@inferiordior It's really more complicated than that. Aside from how the public may view it, a death on set (and sometimes even off it) really takes the spirit out of the cast and crew. Tbh though, movies are released where someone has died in ways at least tangentially related to production all the time. Burnout and exhaustion are serious problems amongst production staff. I personally know someone who was in a car accident on his way home from work in post-production because he was almost falling asleep at the wheel after being overworked for weeks on end (he lived). Almost everyone in the industry has stories like that, or knows someone who died from something similar.

I remember my best friend telling me about how much she loved Shirley Temple movies when she was a child, so one day, she put on a movie for us to watch. We thought we were in for some wholesome fun, but we were so wrong. One of the first songs in this movie was Shirley singing to this grown man (who appears to be her father??) that she wants to wait for him in her bed every night or some weird shit like that. We were so uncomfortable and I felt bad for my friend.

What makes that even worse, it's not even true, John's career didn't start going to the shitter into the 1990s, 7 years after the Twilight Zone, he made Spies Like Us (Grossed $77 million) Three Amigos (Okay this didn't do that well, only making 39 million on a budget of 25 million, but it's a pretty big Cult Classic though) and fucking Coming To America (Which made over 300 million in 1980s movie, that is like 700 million today) big impact on his career, it was basically him trying to shift the blame away from the shit he was making in the 90s all bombing like that helicopter, the fucking movie he made in 1996 (The Stupids) did way more damage to his career

Halicki's films are pretty much mostly just car chases and accidents. His most famous film was 1974's Gone in 60 Seconds, his second most famous film is what killed him. He was killed in an accident while filming Gone in 60 Seconds 2 in 1989, his death was caused by a Water Tower launching a Power Line tower onto him.

Here's some more that I know/Wikipedia During filming of a car-chase scene in The Wraith (A great film you should watch it's free on KZbin Movies), assistant cameraman Bruce Ingram was killed when an overloaded camera car crashed on a mountain road During the filming of Maximum Overdrive Director of photography, Armando Nannuzzi was seriously injured when a radio-controlled lawnmower used in a scene went out of control and struck a block of wood used as a camera support, shooting out wood splinters. The splinters were fired at Nannuzzi's face, resulting in him losing an eye. Nannuzzi sued Stephen King on 18 February 1987, for $18 million in damages due to unsafe working practices. The suit was settled out of court. There are also photos of him on set with the Eye Patch, despite his injuries he seem like he took it well. Not film but for the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard Assistant cameraman Rodney Mitchell was killed and eight other crew members were injured when their camera truck flipped while rehearsing a chase scene. During the filming of 2000's Dinosaur (A animated film) A crew member was killed and another seriously wounded when a camera boom struck a cross-country power line. For 2017's American Made (Terrible film, if you know anything about the actual story of Barry Seal this film will piss you off). Stunt pilot Alan D. Purwin and Venezuelan co-pilot Carlos Berl were killed when their aircraft crashed during filming in Medellín, Colombia. A third person on board the aircraft survived During the filming of Deadpool 2. On 14 August 2017, stuntwoman Joi "SJ" Harris was killed during filming after losing control of a motorcycle while turning a corner and crashing through a glass window. An interesting dark movie secret/rumour was that of a Dog's Purpose. Keep in mind that I may not have the complete story and I'm reciting off by memory. So when the movie was set to be released, TMZ released some backstage footage that proved that the crew may have been abusing/torturing a German Shepard while filming a certain river scene. This caused alot of warranted backlash by dog/animal lovers, animal rights activists, and the rest of the general public. A source then came out arguing that the video was tampered to seem worse than it was. With the company defending themselves by saying they had an Animal Safety Inspector present. Some crew members commented that they probably were a bit rough and should've been more delicate with the dog.

That bear was definitely not trained at all. If you watch the dog/bear fight scene in Old Yeller, you can tell they're play fighting. It's been confirmed that they were professionally trained, with the footage sped up and sound effects added. If you want something a little different, the bear/tiger fight scene in The Beasts Are On The Streets. The two animals were raised together as cubs and, again, were play fighting. While the pug may not have died, it definitely was at least injured (Tbh I think the bear snapped the dogs neck in one scene but it could just be the bear being rough).

I watch tons of movies and horror movies, and the Twilight Zone accident seriously disturbed me in a way no amount of fake gore could. It was covered and the footage was shown in Cursed Films, the finale of a really amazing documentary series. Even though you really can't see much, it's horribly eerie. The people interviewed who worked on the film and how traumatized they still are was really saddening but also heartening, that it made a permanent impact on the people involved. I wish these types of accidents were more well known - I only found out about it like a year ago? I don't think most people are aware of how dangerous many aspects of filming are, and how important it is to pay attention, not take risks, and have mindful leadership (/not let people like John Landis keep making stuff). Even though CG has made some aspects less dangerous, things like the Crow tragedy can absolutely still happen. There's also the line of capitalizing on tragedy versus honoring the work of someone who died filming something - it's hard, but my view on that is they'd want their art out there, but in a tasteful way.

Three actors died including two children, one of whom was decapitated by the helicopter, and he hired the children illegally and had them working in unsafe conditions, obviously. I know it's a very well known incident but I personally think that one is particularly heinous.
