every part of this seems pretty feasible. On a Clockwork HL2 RP server back in the day, I played the map in singleplayer to find secret cooridoors and passages, then followed them on the server to find some high quality loot stashed. This made us quite formidable for lowly noobs on the server. As for the getting banned part, you could get banned for looking the wrong way on some servers. There is no powertrip like a 14 year old who takes what he's doing way too fucking seriously.

These 1942 servers are the only servers on Gmod I have seen have fights with similar servers. I was on one trolling with my friend and the entire server got ddosed and kept crashing, the people in the chat claimed it was from a different 1942 server. Funniest part was that they called the people on the other server degenerates.

The issue is I used to know this man. I don't quite remember how, but I think it was for a nutscript development job. I always questioned WW2 RP servers, but didn't mind much at the time- money was money. He once asked me to play on his server to speak German to his officers, as I am German myself- which was very cringe. I noped out pretty quick after I was asked to recite one of Hitler's speeches in an assembly hall of sorts. A few years down the line he was interested in some custom Models, which I then did not agree to help him with. Never realized what was going on behind closed doors, nor did I care much to look into his community. Being involved with nutscript Development, I have quite a few good stories to tell about other, popular RP servers from around 2013-2019 (and their degenerates).

In having a friend who’s rehabilitating himself from similar Fascistic views, the best thing I think one can do is treat them like you would anyone else, particularly as you would your own family (because they almost always live life feeling like unloved outcasts, and, after all, we are all family, at the end of the day), love them (often easier said than done, but still worth doing), demonstrate to them better and more analytical frameworks to understand our societal dynamics and their faults, show them how much happier they’d be if they stopped thinking of and treating other human beings without humanity, connect these thought processes to things they hold dear (such as their religion, most of which are love-centric and antithetical to their ideology), and try to help them get better. Almost all of them are capable of self-awareness and reflection, and it’s just a matter of getting them in touch with it. While we should continue to ostracise and reject these ideas societally and culturally, it may prove ultimately ineffective if not counterproductive to do that by making people who feel marginalised (which led to them falling down this path) feel more marginalised.
