Are we talking about people who take supplements without investing the diet and exercise or who are willing to do all necessary components of the work. Supplements without proper diet and exercise are useless. Just like psyche meds without doing the work doesn't cure anything. Please do not misunderstand, I am not against pharmacology it has saved millions of lives. However, the point for most is stabilizing so you can do the work. Not so you just take a pill and go about your day.
@pospsycher59083 ай бұрын
@@publicspeaking4258Supplements work regardless of diet and exercise if someone is lacking a nutrient. Supplements do what they say they do, they supplement. You will see better results when you add more exercise and eat a proper meal plan. Psyche meds with or without diet and exercise changes can lead to remission. There is likely never a cure, but adding in a good diet and exercise plan augments psych meds and works on other things for the body that eventually lead to better mental health. You are underplaying the importance of psych meds for people with clinical defined mental health problems. The issue is that so many people who have never tried diet or exercise get diagnosed the same way people who have, which increases the amount of people prescribed antidepressants or other psych meds (which you are talking about, and I agree to in-part)

My family was scammed by him over a decade ago. I was misdiagnosed by this clinic & the meds could have done considerable damage. Fortunately, I found a second opinion & was diagnosed with sleep apnea. There are countless people who have been harmed by this clinic & former employees have also spoken out. Thank you for speaking out about this grift.

I'm curious. If blood flow to a certain part of the brain is less than normal, and there are problems with the functioning of that part, isn't it logical to suspect a connection? Isn't there greater blood flow to active parts of the brain than inactive ones? Educate me.

He gives amazing anecdotal outcomes. He used natural remedies first unlike most psychiatrists. He also looks for outcome unlike other psychiatrists who have to be shaken to change there ineffective plan. Just bc you go to a clinic doesn’t mean you’ll get care just like Amen. Pt. On psych drugs have to be monitored for psychosis and pt. On antidepressants have to be monitored for suicidal ideation. Get real. The psychiatric approach is pretty ineffective in my 45 year nursing experience. Also, most doctors lament no research but never do any research worth it’s salt.

I was researching trying to find a good daily supplement and came across Dr Amen. Now after watching your video I’m unsure so my question is what daily supplements do you recommend for optimal health. I take vitamin D and am looking for a good multivitamin. Looking forward to your response.
@TheKicksShrink27 күн бұрын
you dont *have* to take a daily supplement. for most people, a general multivitamin would do the job, but if you want to go beyond that, fish oil/omega-3, vitamin d (just because enough people in north america are deficient), probiotic should cover your bases. majority of it you will end up peeing out, but those are generally safe enough. talk with your doc about anything beyond that

Is there ZERO correlation between blood flow in the brain and mental health disorders, or just too small for the scale hes advertising? or is this meant for if someone has low blood flow in the parts of the brain that control memory and the person has memory issues? and does increasing blood flow help it? does this brain scan show blood flow correlation for beahvior like anger issues?
@TheKicksShrink3 ай бұрын
my sister is a radiologist and she said "no mental health indications" from the mayo clinic website: "A SPECT test creates a detailed, 3D map of the blood flow activity in the brain, which can help see which parts of the brain are being affected by: Clogged blood vessels. SPECT scanning can find issues with blood flow in the brain. It can help diagnose or check on vascular brain disorders, such as moyamoya disease, a condition in which the arteries in the brain become blocked or narrowed. Seizure disorders. A SPECT scan can help diagnose and treat seizure disorders, such as epilepsy. It does this by pinpointing the area of seizure activity in the brain. Parkinson's disease. In rare cases, a healthcare professional may suggest a SPECT scan called a dopamine transporter scan (DaTscan) to help confirm a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement. Some medical institutions may use SPECT scanning to help check other brain conditions, such as dementia or head trauma."
