Always found it odd how a whole Corps/Legion would just be overly friendly with any or all species they came across. Makes sense it was just their tasking that made them more tolerant and open, and not just all thrilled to work with all sorts of species. Professionally working with allies is one thing, but the fascination of the various species of the Galaxy was mostly a Commander Gree thing. Especially when you realize that the Clones had only ever met humans and Kaminoans, among which the humans were the ones they could trust, not the non-human species that they were used by.

Gree was correct about the Wookies, though. Civilization brought them to extraordinary heights and made them well-known in galactic society. If it weren't for civilization and space travel, who knows what the Wookies would have become. Their surroundings were not ideal, but they overcame their situation many times. There's no disrespect in that and the Wookies deserve to be commended for it

...As an aside, I really want to see a Galactic Federation of Free Alliances experimental military division that truly wants to research the Gree, the Kwa, the Rakata, and more. *Even if it means making them slowly but surely becoming unsanctioned from their unwitting superiors, going rogue just because, and turn madcap enough to try and explore what's beyond the galaxy for the intent to acquire and reverse-engineer the Hypergates, and if they're lucky, well, say hello to the Star Wars equivalent of the Three Moons Initiative.*

Honestly, I don’t know why I’m even trying to state there’s no evidence of the Canon version of the 41st being different from their Legends version since Geetsly makes it clear he’s citing from Legends sources. I guess it’s because I got annoyed by how he described the unit’s transition into the Imperial Era was more of an unmasking than a transformation. Yes, the excerpt from Gett is in a Legends source book. I don’t know if the clone was really quoting from Tarkin, but he definitely did get those words from Gree. Now besides the fact we never hear any clones from this unit talk in such Imperial ways, there’s also the fact that one of the clones Yoda was with in “Ambush” was in the unit. This clone was Jek, the weapons specialist and the Scout Trooper who got his head cut off alongside Gree. He was on relativity good terms with the Jedi after his experience with Yoda. Also, apparently Kanan’s unit of clones were actually part of the 41st Elite Corps. We see that the clones in this unit are quite friendly with the Jedi they serve with. The only time we see them act in a non-heroic manner was when they were under the influence of Order 66, in fact one of these clones broke free of the influence and killed himself and his brothers to save Kanan. Sorry, it’s just that whenever I hear about how nasty Legends clones were under the surface, I feel I have to show how Canon clones are different to them.

To be fair, both things can be true. The Clones are people like anyone else, just isolated from normal society.

Canon clones are too sanitized. There's not enough fascist influence to show the transition to the Empire. Galactic Republic should be like Weimar Republic realistically. Instead we have the heel-face turns of Filoni cartoons.
@tristankawatsuma8962
@tristankawatsuma8962 10 ай бұрын
@@user-yq9im9dk9z I don’t think it’s necessary for clones to be truly fascist. Honestly the inhibitor chips and the symbol of the clones as military might and uniformity seems enough for citizens of the Empire to be inspired to become Stormtroopers. I imagine that any Stormtrooper that actually does interact with a Clone just feels like they’re failed predecessors and that their generation will be the successful successors. And is it really strange for clones to develop loyalty to the Republic instead of disdain at how it operates? After all, it’s Jedi leadership that gives them some independence and it’s service to the Republic that is the reason they exist. As for Imperial military policy, isn’t it natural for clones, especially those who served under the Jedi, to take issue with such policy? It’s not like they have the power to show the galaxy the truth because the Empire controls the Holonet. They can twist anything to their liking. I mean, it just feels like to me serving under the Jedi for a few years would have a positive effect, especially since unlike Legends Jedi, reaching out to the clones was more of an official policy than an uncommon occurrence.

Since some units of the 501st in the OG Battlefront II has accounts of working under the 41st Elite Corps during the Battle of Kashyyyk, my headcanon is that it’s considered a “Corps” because it yoinked special forces from across the GAR depending on the mission, which would explain the abundance of specialized troopers within the 41st Corps to begin with. Depending on their experience with their mission, it’s possible (like Jek of the CSG) that they’re retrained and redeployed under the 41st

41st elite’s cammo scout trooper armor was fucking sick. Also as unsavory as it is with things like regime change you sometimes need people willing to get their hands dirty in the interest of getting the job done. I’m not advocating for genocide or anything but if separatists were using the same tactics then there really is no longer a need for the discussion on ethics when it simply becomes necessary to not surrender the initiative and keep that fight going until victory can be achieved. It is a bit ironic saying this as an American but hey we know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two.

Well, that took a dark turn at the end there, but that's usual for a Geetsly's video, lol. In all seriousness, I can't believe the 41st were such assholes, and here I thought they were one of the actual good Clone units. Now I'm wondering how many other Clone units I love were secretly assholes. I'm starting to think only the 501st(at least Torrent Company and the 332nd), the 212th, and the 104th were the only actual good Clone units out there. There's got to be more good Clones out there, how I am supposed to still be loyal to the Republic if it turns out most of the Clones were assholes. Let's see here, the Galatic Marians and Faie's unit were obviously jerks, the 327th might have been good guys, we don't know much about Doom and his Legion of chads so maybe they were good guys too, the 91st is more complicated, under Ponds they were great under Neyo not so much.
