@creativevisiongaming2 жыл бұрын
He did suddenly turn evil. Eren killing the robbers that kidnapped Mikasa is basic self-defense. Killings millions of people indiscriminately, including children that have nothing to do with it is not self-defense, so then it just become murder. And you can see in Season 4 Episode 5 that people were starting to question why they are told to hate Paradise island. That was Eren's opportunity to see if peace could be achieved. But instead, Eren just proved Willy and all the Marley propaganda right by attacking a crowd of people, a lot of which were Eldians. Then if the people didn't accept Eren's proposal then he should have attacked. But he didn't even try. Eren even says to Falco, "I am the bad guy." Younger Eren cares about people but Adult Eren doesn't. How many people died on Paradise just to implement Eren's plan.

@emancules2 жыл бұрын
@@creativevisiongaming yeah you didn’t understand this show at all. He did not kill the kidnappers in self defense. I’m not saying him killing them wasn’t justified but he walked up to the house with the intention of killing them. There is no planned intent with self defense it just kinda happens. That’s a stark difference in mentality. He’s told Falco he’s the bad guy because everybody is the bad guy to whoever they are opposing. Eren just has the awareness to be aware of this. And like he’s already said he’s doing this for his friends. If he didn’t care about anybody then he wouldn’t do anything. This is how he sees it: 1) Do nothing and Paradise Island continues to get prosecuted and Eldians outside of Paradise are treated as second class citizens for the rest of their days or 2) Do the Rumbling and Paradise Island is finally left alone and the Eldians outside of Paradise no longer have to suffer every day of their lives. Now I don’t agree with Eren but you’re incredibly misguided if you think Eren is doing this for evil reasons
@creativevisiongaming2 жыл бұрын
@@emancules That's the typical AOT fanboy response. I don't agree with your analysis of the story so therefore I just don't understand the show at all. Only you can possibly be correct. I would agree that Eren killing the kidnappers would not be self-defense but only if Mikasa was killed. But she wasn't killed and that was the point of the situation. It was still and active human trafficking situation and Eren already know that they are also murderers. Self Defense also includes defending others as well. Eren was saving Mikasa, the fact that he thought they deserved to die is irrelevant. Eren didn't go around trying to kill other kidnappers after this incident. He only cared about this specific situation. About your other statements: 1) Do nothing and Paradise Island continues to get prosecuted and Eldians outside of Paradise are treated as second class citizens for the rest of their days or : The only reason Paradise is being persecuted in the first place is because of the propaganda spread by the Tyburs. They helped create the whole situation. When Willy was telling the truth about King Fritz in the stage play you can see that people were having doubts about hating Paradise, so what Eren should have done was take out Willy before the festival in secret because Willy's going out of his way to instigate another attack on Paradise instead what he did was prove the Paradise is a threat to the world, so now Marley is justified for persecuting them. Secondly he doesn't care about Eldian outside of the island. Not only did a lot of Eldian die in the Liberio attack but the rumbling will kill a lot of Eldians as well. 2) Do the Rumbling and Paradise Island is finally left alone and the Eldians outside of Paradise no longer have to suffer every day of their lives. If you know the ending, you know that's not true. And you think killing millions of people so they don't have to suffer is justified? Several dictators in history killed millions of people for the "greater good" Do you think those dictators thought they were evil? It doesn't matter if Eren thinks the Rumbling is evil or not, him having the mindset to kill the whole world is evil whether he knows it or not.
@creativevisiongaming2 жыл бұрын
@@rosieee2002 It doesn't matter if he thinks he cares or not, he thinks that his plan is more important than the lives of millions of people who get no say in what happens to them and many of them have no idea what's going on. When Eren asked Mikasa what he meant to her, it was more than just him trying to find out if she has feelings for him. Pls read this comment, you'll understand better about Eren. The Eren and Zeke talking part is because Eren was questioning why Mikasa always was beside him and never let go, he thought it could have been because she is an Ackerman (which later on he made that story up just for her to believe that there's nothing to do with feeling, it's because it's an Ackerman thing (which it's not)), that's why he asked Zeke. But then, no. It's nothing to do with Ackerman, she just likes and loves him enough that she can do everything for Eren. But still... Eren wanted to be sure, that's why he asked Mikasa: 'what am I to you?' (That's why Mikasa is questioning herself, if she were to say something different, not 'family' but 'a guy whom she loved', would things have been different?'). And when Zeke asked 'So, what are you gonna say to her?' and Eren said 'What do you say, I only have 4 years left to live' is not because he wants to fuck the entire world giving that he only has 4 years. His answer is that... he only has 4 years, it doesn't matter what Mikasa feels, cause at the end he wouldn't be there beside her anyways. What Eren does is never for the world; he doesn't give a shit about it, and he is not a robot, he does all those things by his own will. Eren didn't do these shits for the good of the future world. All he thinks is that if the entire world rips apart and all that is left is the Island, then that's where Mikasa and his friends will be happy and don't need to die, be able to live as long as they want; no one is there to hate and come after them anymore. He only cares about them. Pls like my comment to let me know you have read this. What Eren thinks is not hard to get; he knows what he is doing is wrong; he didn't do it cause he THINKS it's 'the way', but because he saw the future, he KNOWS it's 'the only way'. Thank you.

@@rubenwilhelmsen You'll find out eventually...
@Erick-tv8oq2 жыл бұрын
@@rubenwilhelmsen The key here is time. If Eren wiped out only the military, how many years do you think the world would have taken to regroup and attack Paradis Island again, now with their hatred renewed because of the soldiers that died? Certainly more than four. Eren is doing this because he has only four years left, he wants his friends and family to live long lifes far from war and hatred, but he doesn't have the time to ensure they won't be slaughtered 10 years from now for example. Besides that, Zeke and Historia are the only two known royal famiily descendants, and Zeke obviously doesn't have children. Once Zeke dies because of his curse, the literal ONLY WAY to use the founder's power is to give Historia a titan, which Eren is obviously opposed to doing because it would condemn Historia to death 13 years from then. If Paradis Island wants to keep the Founder with the possibility of using the Rumbling as a deterrent, they have to keep the Founder within someone that doesn't have royal blood, and someone else of royal blood, possessing a titan, ready to make contact with the person that actually has the Founder. That is way too complicated a plan, it's quite possible it would eventually fail and Paradis would meet their downfall if it did, with everyone that Eren cares about being slaughtered in the process. So yeah, the conditions are perfectly aligned for Eren to protect his people now, and ONLY NOW. It's safe to assume that never in the 2000 years of Eldian history the conditions aligned so perfectly for Ymir to be freed as well, which is why Eren believes he was guided by her. That's why Eren is commiting this monstrous act. He feels as if he has no choice, because the only other option he has is to sit around, waiting four years before his death, stripping his people of the only chance to defend themselves, and not knowing whether his friends will be slaughtered like cattle once he's gone and the rumbling is no longer possible. Besides that, civilization outside of Paradis was quickly developing anti-titan technology to a frighteningly effective degree. The titans of the walls are Paradis' only spear and shield, if the world developed weapons strong enough to take even that away, it would be only a matter of time before they bombarded the island. This is the same reason why Marley was willing to risk a global catastrophe to take the Founder back, because as the other nations are getting more advanced and more hateful towards Marley's centuries of imperialism, the only way to keep the country from being invaded by all sides is to take the Founder, the most powerful titan of all. That's why in the first episodes of Season 4 Willy Tybur orchestrates the union of the world against Paradis, to keep his country and his people from being raided by everyone else. Sounds familiar? That's because it's the very same reason Eren is doing the rumbling. The first mission to Paradis was a desperate attempt by Marley to take the Founder back, because they literally have to. Once King Fritz gave up control of most of the Eldian population to Marley, and freed them of the centuries of oppression they faced, Marley turned right back around and started oppressing other countries using those Eldians. The Marleyan Empire is built on blood and oppression, just like the Eldian empire before them, yet since Willy Tybur was only born into this situation and doesn't want to die, he feels as though he has no choice but to do what he does. The real villain of Attack on Titan isn't Eren, or Marley, or Willy, or Reiner. It's hatred. It's the cycle of violence that never stops.

@dari93452 жыл бұрын
@@ВалентинЖданов-р9е Paradis would also develop their own army against the world, they aren’t stuck with titan powers, they can also develop the technology they lacked for a lot of time. It doesn’t matter if Paradis is a small island, a nuke would be enough to bring peace, because, just like real life, the most dangerous weapons are the ones who are keeping peace around the globe, because everyone has that kind of destructive power, destroying others means self-destruction too, so nobody is crazy enough to press the red button and end themselves along with their own country with it. Not only that, the rumbling would still be almost enough to destroy the world in our current society. First of all, they all circle the globe, meaning not every country has the power to defend themselves, millions over millions of casualties would occur, and even then, what are the countries gonna do? Nuke the titans until they destroy the world with those nukes? Even though mathematically, there are around 400k-500k titans in the walls(given the radius of the walls from the center and the length from shoulder to shoulder of a colossal titan), the show states that there are tens of millions of colossal titans, and if that statement is true, let me tell you that, no matter how many nukes, they wouldn’t be enough to stop THAT, at least before the world ends by the amount of destruction their own nukes would cause to the environment. In the end, starting a war with Paradis with the founding titan on their hands would result in the inevitable destruction of everything. And if you say they would bomb the current titan shifter leading the titans, well, he could be perfectly hiding inside a nuclear bunker, it’s not a requirement to be in front of the fight like Eren does, for all we know, the Founding titan has no range limitations, Eren made the titans go all around the world, meaning limitless range, at least on Earth. @@dari9345 "Not only that, the rumbling would still be almost enough to destroy the world in our current society." Nope, the Rumbling could be stopped by simply killing the founder and it can be done by any advanced air fleet, titans are extremely vulnerable to helicopters for example. The real number of colossals is around half a million, tens of millions is an exaggeration probably to provide seriousness of the situation, the real number can be calculated by the length of the walls. So, a single helicopter can kill at least a hundred before the need to restock the ammunition, 30-45 mm cannons with hundreds of rounds straight to the napes plus tens of regular rockets much more powerful than thunder spears, and it is not urgent anyway, destroy the founder and they will stop, and killing wondering colossals without clear goal is pretty easy. Currently US alone has more than 2000 fighters and bombers and around 200 helicopters, plus 1000 drones with bombs, and if we add nuclear weapons... 15000 of them currently in the world, each can vapourize thousands of titans and the founder too. While they are swimming for example. P.S. I think the rumbling could be stopped with technologies of early sixties, and if preventive attack had been used before the rumbling - even WW2 technology may have sufficed. And when there is no unbroken line even tanks can flank them and hit the nape...

How could anyone not love this episode? The way it seamlessly changed from the most heartwarming and wholesome of tones to one of slaughter and genocide of the highest level was incredible. And the way they they interjected the scenes of Eren having conversations with Zeke, Yelena, Floch and Historia brought this episode to near perfection.

This episode was a masterpiece. I started aot in 2013 when i was still in elementary, now im in uni still watching it and even though I used to read the manga for a long time and despite it’s end im still very excited for last season. The anime is adapted with so much love and attention to detail so I am super excited to say goodbye to a series that i grew up with. Eren will always be my favorite character, not because I agree with him, I don’t. It’s because of how great of a character he is. You see him grow and learn from his mistakes, try to do what he can with all this pressure whilst still being just a boy. He was 19 when he had to make the decision for the rumbling. Although his methods were wrong, he is such a complex character and written so beautifully. He is the most selfish but selfless character, because he is willing to do so much for his beliefs and for his friends that he ends up acting like that. He struggled a lot during the seasons with who he is, if he was worth sacrificing so much etc… I may not root for his actions but goddamn he is a good character and you can sort of i guess empathize with him to some extend

Episode 2 Eren : "I'll kill them all.... I'll wipe every one of them off the face of this Earth! Episode 87 Eren : "I'll wipe out.... every last one of 'em... from this world! (Same jp pronounciation) Same phrases from the same person with the same level of rage but towards *COMPLETELY DIFFERENT YET SAME* ENEMIES. This is hands down the best finale of any season of any anime I've ever watched. PERIOD!! Animation, Music, Story arrangements, everything was pure gold. Especially the music in the last scene. The buildup during Eren's memories, maintaining a high note as everything finally comes to a complete circle, and then finally settling down with the show reminding us one last time, that Eren never changed, he's always been the same, having the same hunger for freedom that NEVER EVER died out. Those calm beats with the show once again replaying his and Connie's reaction to Sasha's death. And of course to end the episode and the season, the signature move a.k.a. the *BEGINNING OF THE END* with the Sawano special OST. Those flashbacks in the final scene of his mom being eaten totally completed the scene than what it would've been without them. Acting as a fuel for his rage towards his enemies. Idc what anyone says, THIS SHOW IS NEVER LEAVING THE TOP SPOT IN MY FAVOURITE ANIMES. And also Thank you too Nick for reacting to this show, For keeping the emotions raw, and for giving us fans that first hand experience of this show once again. The world building isn't good. Hange didn’t meet with any other nations who were at war against Marley, or make any attempts at international diplomacy or policy, or try to use Zeke’s Marleyan volunteers to establish global connections. And maybe I wouldn't support rumbling like I do now, if Yams did't make it the only possible solution. We were told that basically every nation would rather get trampled than talk to the Paradis because they are afraid that they will get trampled if they talk to the Paradis. They all hated Paradis more than Marley, who literally used the titans against other nations, while Paradis was just completely isolated.

The thing is though, imagine yourself in Eren's place. You have seen the future in your memories. You have seen what you do, but you don't know why you do it because its something so horrific. So like a normal person, he ignores it for a while until he begins to see things play out EXACTLY as they do in his memories. Over time you start getting overwhelmed with the fact that you might have to do this horrible thing you saw yourself do, but still you hold out hope. You accept to try for peace. You even try to desperately find a way out by asking someone who you know loves you to say so and make you leave this path. You see your friends crusade for peace fail miserably and that is the last straw. At some point you see that everything you saw in your memories is happening exactly as you witnessed. At that point you have no choice but to follow the path laid out for you and "keep moving forward" to see the outcome. None of this was his plan but a path he HAD to take. When he asked Mikasa "what im to you", his eyes desperately seeking some other answer rather what he saw in memories, hoping that the future he saw could be different. And the same goes to Sasha's death

I love how stupid the "fans" were when they thought Eren, a character built up for 3 Seasons, just went evil in their minds. There are so many variables that hint at him acting like he does in this final part of the episode. Sasha's Death: Conny and a bunch of other "fans" blindly followed that he laughed at Sasha's Death, when he was only thinking of their best moments together. When Eren told Mikasa she was just an Ackerman; sworn to protect the Founder, when we KNOW in Season 3 with Kenny's Dad; that the Ackerman's have been the OPPOSITE throughout history, and even if they weren't; Eren wasn't the Founder let alone a Titan when he and Mikasa first met. Eren's speech to Reiner is well explained throughout this ep: "before crossing the sea, I thought that everyone was my enemy. Than I crossed it, I ate the same food as my enemy, slept under the same roof. Reiner I'm the same as you. Sure there are jerks but good people too, inside the walls, across the sea, we're all the same". The Eren we see here is the Eren that realizes that he won't do the rumbling to kill monsters who deserve to die cuz they're evil, but normal people with their ordinary lives, dreams and problems (even though there are many racists, brutes and politicians who wished for Eldians to disappear, but definitely a small percentage). The Eren talking to Floch and to Historia is the Eren that hasn't seen the outside world yet, so he justified his future actions thinking that he'll face some heartless monsters, same attitude he had towards titans, the simple eren's mindset of "everyone is a bad guy". His internal conflict starts as soon as he set foot in Marley and saw all those normal people enjoying their lives. It's so easy to understand, Eren too perfectly knows that the majority of people aren't enemies or concrete threats to Paradis, like babies, kids, women, old people, good men, kind refugees etc, he's just following an unchangeable path he deep down always wished for it to happen, we know his childish and obsessed pursue of freedom in an utopian empty beautiful world. However, for some people Eren did it out of "revenge and hatred" since everyone was a potential enemy. An extremely shallow and wrong vision of the actual situation. The last line of this episode is the motto of kid Eren, referring to titans. He's exactly the same as 9 years before now, despite realizing the truth of the world. He's just too focused on his dream, on the safety of his friends and his people. We'll get a significantly deeper explanation of this eren's crazy moral dilemma in part 3's first episode

An important thing you missed (or just got wrong) is that Eren, at the start of this episode still believed in a peaceful way of dealing with the hatred against eldians just like the rest of the scouts. They all put their hopes into that group of people who called themselves "allies of eldia". The problem is that this group of people actually just liked the eldians that do *not* live on paradis island. When they declared their hate on the island that's where Eren knew he won't be able to change the future he saw in his dad's memories. He can't avoid him killing the whole world. And Eren was crying when he saw that camp of refugees not because he felt bad for them losing everything to war. He felt horrible because he knew he was gonna kill them all. That why when mikasa asked "what happened" (7:51) he said "nothing YET". Funfact for the people who want to feel even more depressed than they already are: when Eren asked mikasa what she was to him he was ready to throw everything he planed away. If she confessed her love to him in that moment he would have ran away with her and spent the rest of his life loving her from that point on. But she was too shocked sadly. We all wanted too see them kiss eachother. (I had hopes for the scene in Season 2 after Hannes died already but no isajama is too "shy" to draw characters kissing...) (Edit: since you caught up on AoT I would love to see you react to "Attack on Titan S1 in 9 minutes" a geniusly made parody of the first season)

What a journey it has been watching your reactions to this amazing piece of media, I cant believe its been many months since you reacted to the first episode. I'm so glad I found your channel, I can't wait to watch more of your reactions to many other amazing animes. I can't wait for the final part, and of course your reactions to it, despite having already read the manga but seeing the last bit animated is going to be something else.

Something interesting to note at the end of this episode : Meldian soldier see eren and says "Aaahh Shingeki no Kyojin !" And run away. Shingeki no Kyojin is the name of the story. But it's also the name of the eren titan. In english we can translate by : the offensive titan and the attack of titans. For translator, the story is about a young guy who watch his mother ate by a titan and try to survive to their attack so they translate by "attack on titan" But the real sense of the manga's name is here. The offensive titan attack the World with his army of Titan. The real Shingeki no Kyojin is the start of the end. I want to share this infos because I think it's really important to understand the perfection of this show

Reading this chapter sent chills down my spine and watching the episode was beyond great. The song was so perfect! This episode hit so much seeing Eren’s tears and his response “nothing yet” when Mikasa asked what happened.

Your reaction was perfect, keep up the great work. I love seeing your reactions to everything and you are my favorite reaction channel. If you want to see more AoT you can watch more of the OVAs, I think there are a total of 8 episodes or so. I'm hyped for the next part.

Hey, Nick. I just want to say that I am glad I was able to relive how I felt watching AoT the first time because of your reactions. I can't wait for the next season to come because as much as I am excited to watch it, realizing that it is gonna be the end of the anime that I literally read and watched growing up makes me feel empty. Keep up with the reactions! You are doing great!

8:33 Actually a reason Eren was crying looking at the camps of immigrants is because he knew that he will kill them all later with the rumbling, in himself he is basically saying "i'm sorry" to them but he know he have to kill them in order to save his friends

Great show. So much philosophy. Eren is one of (if not the best) written characters in ANY show. Not just anime. His motivations begin when his mother was eaten to destroy all titans, but he became the titan force that he swore to destroy. He fights for freedom, but he is ultimately trapped in the time loop, knowing everything that is going to happen, how it will happen, and the parts that he has to play. (That's why he laughs when Sasha dies. No matter how strong he gets, he can't gain freedom from his future.) And lastly, he fights for his friends, just wanting them to have a happy life, but blinded by his lack of freedom and vengeance against the people that ultimately got his mother killed, he doesn't realize that, while his friends want happiness by peace, he wants happiness by destroying his enemies (hinted at in the last few minutes of the last episode of season 3. Everyone is happy with the temporary peace besides him, because his happiness is achieved by destroying his enemies, and many more were still alive on the other side of the ocean.)

I love how they wrapped up this episode with the og soundtrack!! seeing all of the citizens get crushed on the one hand and listening to the beautiful and soulful voice in the background on the other just made me an emotional rollercoaster. I just love how the episode started all happy and ended in fear and destruction just like the very first episode.

Nick I think you missed a major part of this episode, Eren seeing the camp and him crying wasn't because of what he was seeing, it's because he knew what was to come. He even says to Mikasa asking what happened: "nothing yet". Eren is conflicted because he already knows the outcome here. It's tragic to see all of this because he already knows that the outside world hates him and his people, and he will take on the burden of suffering.
@Daesma9992 жыл бұрын
yeah.. the song is back and it finally has its meaning.. "the earth rumbles ans becomes red. People remember this tragedy." "What do we find beyond the horiizon?" This episode is a master piece. The good bittersweet ending of the part 2 as it should be.

I don’t totally support Eren but I perfectly understand why he’s doing the rumbling. Paradise Island was on a kill or get killed situation the world was ready to fuck them up therefore Eren decided to lose his humanity and become the monster he thinks paradise needs. I love how Isayama put us in a situation where we don’t know what’s wrong or right and everything depends on perspective

you can't give a completely unbiased opinion on this season's (part's?) ending without going thru the nuance and subtlety each side presents. it's fantastic that there are valid reasons for sympathy for both sides. that's why I love this story so much and can't wait for your next reactions when it returns next year, Nicholas!

This episode brought me to tears. It's not just about genocide, it's about revenge, hate, war, sacrifice, death, lost friendships, undeclared love, lost opportunities. I'm not on Eren's side, although I understand his motivations. It's not up to him to decide what's best for everyone. All the actions he has done so far have only brought unhappiness to his friends. Seeing him like that is very sad and scary.

The representation of death and hopelessness We all know how big collosals are but look at how small they are compared to eren.
