The show did really well on it in It’s first 10 episodes. And that triggered 90 more episodes for 100 total. It did OK during 2013 but then fizzled as the episodes went on and wrapped in 2014 two months before two and a half men. FX didn’t want to order anymore episodes and that was it. Similar shows like Saint George and Partners also had 10 episodes initially but didn’t do well and didn’t get the additional episodes. I watched all 100 episodes and while it was kind of uneven, I enjoyed it for the most part. I was surprised that Charlie Sheen maintained himself pretty well throughout this.

@dannigro8794
@dannigro8794 8 күн бұрын
It’s not crazy. It was ordered under a 10/90 model. Similar to Tyler Perry’s house of Payne. When that happens, the show gets 10 episodes and if the ratings hit a certain threshold, then buy contracts an additional 90 episodes will be ordered. Totaling 100 so it gets into syndication. The first 10 episodes were produced in 2012 and the show did really well because everybody was interested in Charlie’s return to TV. The 90 episodes were produced from 2012 to 2014 airing from 2013 to 2014 and basically the show is in continuous production with scripts having to be turned out consistently and therefore creatively it kind of ran out of steam pretty quickly maybe after 20 to 30 episodes.
@SuperKamehameha2
@SuperKamehameha2 7 күн бұрын
@ I’m well aware of why, no need to explain. ordering a whole 90 episodes at once just for syndication is wild and I stand by that.

Idk how old you were when this whole situation went down but I remember being a kid and pivoting to this bc Charlie was the main reason I watched two and a half men and the plot of that show got kind of cringe after he was written off, Alan went from mooching off his brother to mooching off a random guy and that just felt weird, to me and many other people I knew who watched it. Apart from the very first episode Anger Management didn’t really focus on the irl drama that led to its creation, this was just a show made by Charlie sheen for people who wanted to watch Charlie sheen, and from that perspective I’d say it did its job fairly well.

It was produced under a 10/90 model. What that means is under that model, the first season will be 10 episodes. If that season does well and hits a certain rating threshold, it will automatically trigger a second season of 90 episode to get to 100. Look up Tyler Perry’s house of Payne Other shows like Saint George and Partners were produced under similar models but did badly and were cancelled.

I saw a few episodes of this when I got sick on vacation and didn’t want to leave my air bnb. The whole show just seemed like content rather than entertainment. Kinda like TikTok reels. Just low quality, low effort content that you can pump out on a daily basis and hope your audience gets mesmerized by it and are too lazy to get up or change the channel. The fact they slapped together 100 episodes right out of the gate tells me this is exactly what they were going for. But the show was good for a few chuckles. If you ever needed light noise or something to throw on your tv for some reason, Anger Management makes for decent wall art.
