I was an adult when John was murdered but my own mother (who would have been 90 years old now and was also a music-lover) loved The Beatles, particularly John and strictly forbade the use of his killer’s name in her presence. My friends thought she was joking but she was deadly serious and I always understood and agreed with her reasoning. The lunatic only wanted “fame” and didn’t care how he got it so to my mind, speaking his name only helps keep it (and his vile ways) alive. A “nobody” who chose to deprive the world of one of our most beloved Singer/Songwriters deserves absolutely nothing, least of all “remembering”. @@GodyP Yes there is more to the story than just that. Yoko sold John's possessions at auction to punish her stepson Julian for taking her to court because she selfishly refused to share any inheritance with him claiming John didn't put him in his will, which was a blatant and vicious lie she's told on John, who was suppose to be "the love of her life!" Truth was John (who was trying to be a better man and father to Julian than what he'd been) provided for Julian, as well as his sisters Julia and Jackie, Aunt Mimi, and Uncle Charley. When John gave Yoko his power of attorney for business convenience purposes, she removed John's British kinfolk and didn't tell him knowing that he wouldn't think to ask. What is so foul is that Yoko let the world believe that John was a "deadbeat dad hypocrite" even in death, to his firstborn son, whom he was trying to reconnect and bond with! She sold Uncle Charley's house out from under him as well as the family house Julia and Jackie's grew up in which was suppose to remain theirs. Since she was forced to settle with Julian (her greed and stinginess toward him garnered her bad press and severely lessened the goodwill she gained since John's murder, she struck back by forcing Julian to use his settlement money to buy back John's belongings. Yoko, as "Mrs. Peace & Love" is a vile human being who hides behind empty "peace and love" rhetoric to mask her true self. Do the research!

Publically "forgiving" MDC would be easy for her, it would be an act, a performance, NOT REAL, in any way, because she doesn't care about him. "Forgiving" MDC, COSTS HER NOTHING, but may gain her plenty in peoples perception of her "selfless sacrifice and saintly heart". (pee yew!) I would be MORE impressed, if she were to publically and privately ADMIT to Julian, her decades of wrongdoing in her mistreatment of him and his mother Cynthia. THIS is something that would be extremely difficult for her, and ANY phoniness or insincerity on her part would be easily detected. She WOULD NEVER do this, because for her the cost is too high. She would LOSE FACE to humble herself like that to him, it requires a true heart to feel real remorse, to have real regret and that is just something she can't fake...even if really tried.

Why so much people hate on yoko? She is such a strong woman. She saw her husband dying,and received a lot of hate in her life and took it so gracefully.She made John happy and that’s the only thing that matters! She seems like such a lovely woman. She is amazing periodt

I was studying for a calculus test in the early morning that day when I heard the news. I called my best friend and cried, "John Lennon is dead!" She was groggy but could not believe it. I took my exam, just emotionally paralyzed. Life was never the same again.

John Lennon was, by no means, a saint. He made mistakes just like everyone else. He regretted them like most do. He had a vision like some did/do, of peace and free love. Of a world where hatred was just a word and not an expressed action or feeling. I wish more people had the heart that this man did.

I was very young when this happened. My father said, after reading all the information from the newspapers: "Nixon got him killed. His songs, his ideas and political activism were dangerous to the status quo. He was in Nixon's black list." This just my father's point of view and perception of that tragedy. I agree.
@waterfalls51949 жыл бұрын
+Ana Alongi Your father was mistaken. John Lennon WAS NOT on Nixon's famous enemies list. The only entertainment celebrities on Nixon's enemies list were: Carol Channing (actress) Bill Cosby (actor, comedian) Jane Fonda (actress) Steve McQueen (actor) Joe Namath (New York Giants businessman, actor) Paul Newman (actor) Gregory Peck (actor) Tony Randall (actor) Barbra Streisand (actress) Dick Gregory (comedian) I've combed over that whole list, including politians, organizations, media, activists and John Lennon's name was not on it. Google Nixon's famous enemies lists.

I've had this picture of John Lennon with Mark David Chapman over his left shoulder for two weeks now when I logged into my computer. It's beginning to sicken me. My original thinking was that I wanted to see the last picture of John Lennon. But that's bullshit, there's another photo of him simple getting into a car moments later. There's just something very wrong with how John Lennon died. I don't think I'll ever get over it.

@waterfalls51949 жыл бұрын
+Beamer Magan You really need to research Yoko before you start crying a river over "all she's been through in her lifetime". She is a damaged soul it is true, and has DELIBERATELY cause a lot of cruelty and pain in other people's lives because she could! Lennon specifically expressed NOT to be cremated, but Yoko had him cremated anyway, and then moved her longtime lover, interior designer Sam Havadtoy, into her bed, in the Dakota home she shared with John Lennon, like a couple of days after Lennon's cremation, before his still warm ashes cooled! She and Sam then went on to live luxuriously like husband and wife for the next 20 years!

It is very obvious to me that whatever people say about Yoko she was a very interesting avant-garde artist and thus more of a better match for John. John had an intellectual and heart connection to her. If you look at this video and hear her concept of the art, its easy to see why John admired her, John met her at her exhibit, in her own right she was establishing herself as an admired conceptual artist. People stop hating, they were soul mates!!

+Capybaraism and +Helen Schumaker "Yoko and John loved each other very much." "They were definitely soulmates!" No they weren't.....although they really tried to be. Their love grew cold and stale over a period of time. You have fed on the "JohnandYoko So In Love" propaganda they used to keep the public at bay from their relationship's deterioration and the crazy wreck they made of their private lives. Do the research.
@Capybaraism9 жыл бұрын
+Water Falls They may have had their faults and ups and downs in their relationship. But regardless, they still had each other. That alone is special, and is something I appreciate.
@waterfalls51949 жыл бұрын
+Capybaraism Yes they had their faults, like everybody else does, they had their ups and downs too, like other people in relationships, I know that. But the love they started out with, lessened, then died. It happens. They made such a big deal and public spectacle out of having a "Love Of The Ages", and shoving it into everybody's faces, like no one had love as strong or as good as theirs. When their much ballyhooed love flame that burned bright, burned out, being the narcissists they were, they thought the general public cared enough to get upset about it. So they trotted out the frayed flag, "JohnandYoko myth" to wave and hide behind. Those closest to them have reported otherwise, that their marriage became a sham. It can happen to the best of couples and it happened to them.

John himself freely admitted that at that point in his life, he hit women and would do any girl any time... Yoko helped him overcome it, which was why he loved her so much. ("I used to be mean to my woman i beat her and kept her away from the things that she loved") He was (is) a genius & man of truth. Yoko is awesome and unbelievably brave.
