I have NEVER in 27 years of transportation, loaded a can with a DC 3 in parts and pieces. By far one of the most challenging loads I have ever seen.HUGE shout out to Uncle Ronnie for his incredible knowledge and patience with us as he instructed us on how he wanted everything put away. Well, after months of planning and preparation, it's great to see that the plane and the parts are now together in the same location. I dare say it will take a few days or to get things all set up, but yes, it's finally time to "really get hands on doing the job". It's heart warming to see how generous people are being with their support to the project. The end result will bring a great sense of pride and achievement to everyone who has made a contribution to the cause, no matter how large or small. Wishing you all good luck and good weather Mikey! Possibility that the Airport would allow you to erect a temporary chain link fence like they use in construction, and if Cresswell & the Airport agree, temporarily open up Cresswell's permanent fence so that your Uncle can get his camper in and/or workers can get in/out through Cresswell without having to walk around? The worst that can happen is they say is no.

There's one in Brossard near the intersection of Boul. Taschereau and Boul. Lapiniere, it's beside a Rotisserie St.Hubert and also a Rotisserie Scores. Curiously, the Taco Bell is a combined KFC-Bell store, so if tacos and burritos don't turn your crank, there's chicken, chicken, and chicken&ribs nearby :) 6-7km as the crow flies from the airport.

Hey Mikey, can you guys upgrade the interior lights to say LEDs on the old planes?
@stanpatterson50335 жыл бұрын
I have a question.... who would make LED's specific to fit in a DC-3 ? Since I don't know the fitting or voltage, I'd say it would have to be a custom job. But, for instruments, there's probably someone who converts the bulbs in them over to mini LED's for longevity.
@adrenalinowner79925 жыл бұрын
Stan, I don’t know about the mini light unless they are like a 194 then yes same idea as automotive lights, I changed the incandescent lights to LED in my PeterBilt, I would guess someone at a aftermarket company would like the challenge of testing...

That is one very famous Beech 18 see www.pt6nation.com/en/articles/article/best-of-the-pt6-nation-the-legend-tells-its-story/ and good to see that the aircraft is still extant and serving as a useful instructional airframe. I hope the logistics issue can be resolved Mikey thats a long trip around to get to the aircraft where she is you have plenty of space to work around the aircraft but need to set up some kind of protection from the elements for the working party perhaps a few gazebo's or similar kind of set up. The news about Night Fright comes as no surprise and serves to show that even working on a machine full time is no guarantee that things get done on time with all of the will in the world. Mikey I think the biggest thing to getting DTD completed is going to be manpower and lots of it,Ronnie can be in the lead with his practical hands on expertise but he is going to need a lot of regular back up manpower to break the back of the diverse work in getting the DC-3 airworthy but I am sure that you have plans in place to cover every eventuality. Stella seems to be entering into the spirit of everything and her lovely smile says it all,what a treasure she is to this project. It looks like someone has already had a go at removing the paint from the passenger windows so that is a good start to the proceedings,look forward to seeing your walk around video tomorrow,take care now.
