You talk about Britain USA France Germany in these countries its not Goverment that build infrastructure Goverment puts out tenders and private companies bid for the work even most maintenance is done by private sector paid for of course with tax revenue Goverment is inefficient and not cost effective. The problem with SA in corruption and uncountabelity and the uneducated voters that keep the corrupt Local and National government in office . You really need to respect some of the construction in South Africa. If something was built 50 - 100 years ago and is ONLY breaking down now after lets say 20-30 years of no maintenance...imagine where it would be like with a little tlc! This should be in construction textbooks worldwide!
