Hi there guys! Since a lot of you have been requesting to feature some of my crew members, I decided to start making this new series in my channel. And of course, the most requested is for the deck cadet. I'll be doing this sort of video from time to time so I could also share some of the life experiences of other seafarers that I work with to let you in on their insights and aspirations. Hope you guys enjoy!!! And if you have any requests as to who to feature next, just drop a comment below. And don't forget to hit "Like"!!!

Hi Chief thankyou for taking me back to my time at sea as ships cook back in the late 60s early 70s, I'm surprised that not much has changed in the day to day life even though I was in the UK merchant navy. Our catering department was 7 strong with a total ships complement of 32 = 5 engineers and 4 motormen, 4 Bridge officers, 12 Deck hands including Boswain ships Carpenter/ Pump man on tankers/bulk carriers, After 7 Years deep sea I got entangled/Married and had to settle down to working on the channel ferries out of Dover, which you must have passed from time to time. I'm now retired but look back with fondness at my time at sea it is the best of lives.

To all future deck officers, the creator of this amazing short movie and to myself: The beauty of the life at sea can only be found deep inside ourselves. It's the feeling that makes us who we are. If you make yourself feel like a captain, you will definitely start thinking and acting like one. The choices you take, the everyday small improvements in your environment will all be based on that feeling. We as humans are the lifestyle we live. Ask yourself what could a great Master (Captain) do right now if his spirit woke in your body. Become a Captain deep inside yourself, find the beauty in every aspect of that carrier you are chasing, then and only then you will become a member of our brothers and sisters out there at sea taking care of their crew members and the ship. Cheers mates! 💪

Thanks for the ❤️ Chief Makoi. I was a merchant marine student before way back 2001 but unfortunately I shifted course for a personal reasons. My grandpa was a chief engineer too. When he retired, my uncle continued and became a chief engineer also. My uncle retired also last past few years. In my generation of our family, I'm the only went to a merchant marine school but I guess I broke their heart when I shifted a course. I may not continued thier legacy, but still there's a bit of me still wanting to sail the seven seas 😊 That's the reason why I subscribed to your channel chief just to feel the environment there. More videos chief and continue inspiring the young merchant marines especially our fellow filipinos. God bless!

Blessed is when you sailed with supportive and generous officer to share their knowledge. I really appreciate to the officer who want to share their experience. Ive been in position when all you can do is work with bosun, and when you ask something to the officer they just keep avoiding to answer, whether they know the answer or not.

I don't watch your channel because of the content. I watch it because it is awesome to watch good man do their work and giving insights here n there. You are one of those good man, always promoting other, giving chances but also making clear that achievement, rewards and appreciation lies in their own hands. Great to watch you, it's really inspiring even for someone in a completely different field.
