Law & Order was one of the worst offenders of recycling actors, but Two and a Half Men might have been worse, M*A*S*H did it with Harry Morgan, and Babylon 5 did it with a one character in the pilot and recast him as a villain later. They also recycled actors under makeup as aliens, much like Walking dead does with walkers. I’d consider those like stuntmen though.

Dworkin's run in the L&O Franchise is priceless. Lots of laughs, misdirection, and took L after L. Got close in that episode when Fontana dunked the con's head in the toilet, but no dice.

@@Mae__Day1 Chicago PD. I can't remember the episode but he's a squatter and it's revealed when they have the Fire Department do a building check that he killed his wife and buried her in the walls.

This character was so great. Probably the most brilliant attorney to ever appear on the show and tried to come across as a buffoon. Made for some great scenes and then they brought him back he was so good.

There's a reason that they always called this guy a clown. But despite that, he had some morals. He was alright with the verdict of his client that Fontana tortured and admitted that if he was put in that situation, he wasn't sure what he would've done either.

Not sure if its completely true, but I'm hazarding a guess that this defence lawyer may be based on Ronald Dworkin? A particularly well known American Legal Academic who raised a variety of key interpretations of legal ideas in his works, whether its in relation to civil/human rights or discretion and how it is defined.

Arthur Branch was a solid Da. I never got why, in this episode, Dworkin doesn't even consider it when McCoy offers manslaughter 2. His client did kill the guy, and man 2 gets him out of prison in about 10 years. All the courtroom stuff about Isreal couldnt have been worth life in prison. It didn't make sense to me.

Someone at L&O didn't get his/her facts straight, at least twice. Dworkin stated that American troops liberated Auschwitz (including his great-aunt Sophie). The history books I read stated that it was Soviet troops who did so, the same ones who freed my cousin when he was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge. Reminds me of the "Return" episode in which the rabbis stated that, since Eli Becker hadn't taken a mikvah, he wasn't Jewish. I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Since when do men take mikvahs?! ROFLMAO BTW, I'm a Christian. I just read a lot.
