In 2006, I was a relatively new Christian (and a LOT more conservative and judgy, not so much now). I found the Vince/God thing highly offensive and blasphemous. Still think it was in poor taste but looking back it's just bad comedy and bad tv. But it gave us the all time line of "the product of my semen, Shane McMahon". Shane's reaction was like, "Dad, WTF dude".
