Asif was one of a kind talent, a very unique bowler. He was a difficult bowler to play on dead pitches of Pakistan. Imagine how many wickets he would have gotten had he played in ENG, AUS, NZ, etc, where the ball moves. Unfortunately, his greed got the best of him and the incompetency of PCB at that time didn't help in his case either.

2012 WC was round the corner, and 🇵🇰 always won matches because of fast bowlers. Indian knew this from the beginning, that's the reason they told their bookie to trap Asif, Amir, and Salman Butt. One player Yasir Hameed was trapped in an interview, and the Bookie despite knew the consequences of his crime, call media, and revealed them all about his plot that was waiting to happen the next day, In the end of the next day, all players involved were caught red handed with the cash they received for the spot fixing.. One thing more the Corrupt Management at PCB were involved as well, that's the very reason, on day of the 2012 WC Match with india, Shoaib Akhtar & Abdur Razzaq were dropping from the playing 11. Nor Shoaib nor Razzaq came back after that.
