I'm a life long Broncos fan and lived in Colorado most of my life. Now I live in Florida and see everything Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers are pretty good. I know how the Broncos can save their season. Switch quarterbacks. Just saw the interview with James Palmer, where he talks about how the Steelers DBs were laughing at the Broncos. Because of the limited playbook, the Pittsburgh defense knew EXACTLY what Denver was going to do and what the limitations were. If Nix isn't ready to attack with the entire offense, then he shouldn't be playing.

I have to agree. The NFL is filled with the world's best talent in the game. This is why smart GMs draft QBs and then sit them for a year or 2. Some think you can learn faster with real reps. OK. But this is year 2 with SP. We have regressed each year. It is ALL about the O-Line. Control the line, control the game. We want a team that's not over dependent on any 1 position, but competency at every position. And the focus has to be on the big men because that body type is rare. It gets done up front, or it is a crap shoot. There are only so many K. Murrays. KC found out when losing the SB to Brady and the Bucs that weakness in the O-Line will cost you. Denver has not placed enough priority on big talented men complimented with good line coaches. You need both. Also, you must have more 2-way players for skill positions on both sides of the ball. Players that can play on offense in various spots + special teams, and on defense be able to function as CB or S, or LBs that can play run or coverage + special teams. Enough of using special teams as a place to hide players on a roster. Want to win a SB? You have to have competent QB play, but you must dominate the line of scrimmage more than the other team. That's football. Stop ignoring the lines. Skilled players cannot meet expectations with sub par line play. However, even mediocre skilled players can excel with high quality line control. Control the line, control the game.

@venutt65 There is some truth to what you're saying, but the flip side is this, no matter how talented your offensive line is, they will be overwhelmed if they are constantly facing 8 men in the box with blitzing corners. Denver has faced more 8 man fronts than any other AFC team so far this season. Why? Because defenses know that our offense won't attack or stretch the field with Nix at quarterback. Until we force defenses to defend the entire field, we won't be able to run or get yards after the catch on short passes, and we'll make every defense look like the '85 Bears. Nix needs to sit down and take a breather.

@@thelordofliberty6984 I have noted 2 things in this regard. 1. Courtland has lost a step. 2. The speedsters Franklin and Watson are not being utilized. We do a good job of cost control at the WR and RB position groups. But their speed is under utilized. I will also confess that it appears to me that Nix lacks the accuracy deep. Is that footwork? Not sure. So I have to agree on benching him IF the goal is actually winning. IF the goal this year is OJT, we will continue to watch bad football the rest of this season. Sean Peyton: the guy who said "I dunno Hackett" and "last year was hard to watch (referring to Hackett's term). Hey Sean, it's hard to watch your team. Are you sure you can coach in the modern league or are you past your prime? It's time to stop making comments and telling stories about your old Saints. It time to coach the Broncos. So far, degradation each year with Peyton at the helm. That's fact. Ran Russ out of town and we are worse in most positions groups. WR, RB, TE, and OL are performing worse than a year ago. Simmons gone and Jones has not impressed. ILB took a step back also with no Jewel. The D line is better. I'm not sure we have the talent to win in this league. We have gone from being the Jets of the West to the Panthers of the West . Not too confident in the scouting and coaching abilities of this head coach. However we may get a high first round pick,,, next April. April 2025 is a long way off. This season is going to be hard to watch. So even if you bench Nix (makes no difference to me I'm certainly not in love and see what you see), I'm not sure it will make a lot of difference. I guess Stidham deserves a chance also if we are just experimenting. Wilson may do better on this team than in the past, but his past concerns me. Just think we could have had Mac Jones for a 6th rounder last off season. Jax got him for that. We passed.

So much negativity in the comments. We are extremely young, playing with an extremely limited budget, with a rookie QB. Expectations should be low. When we have 60 million tied up in dead cap we had to let go of some skill players and play a season with less proven talent. It’s a rebuild year. All I want to see is progression out of Bo nix as the weeks go on. If he makes measurable improvements over the weeks, and we have more money to bring in talent next year, we may be able to be contenders soon. There’s plenty to work on this year, but expecting to make the playoffs given the team’s situation is delusional. We have to get our expectations under control and redefine what a “successful” year looks like.
