JRZY DY I put every movie to the "is it great" test by seeing how many times I watch it. Matrix? Great movie. Jaws? Great movie. Exorcist? Great. GoodFellas? Great. All those movies I've watched more than 5 times each. Departed? If you paid me $20 to go see it I would turn you down. It was a pale take-off on GoodFellas. But directors today cash in on making remake's once the groundbreaking film (like those above mentioned) are created. If you can only sit through a movie once it is far from great. I prefer Affleck's film, "The Town" over this film anyway.

This movie is timeless. I've repeated many times. Everytime when I watch it I get to appreciate something new about it. Recently, I actually discovered there are high chances that Billy was the father of Madolyn's unborn child in the movie. She wanted to break the news to Billy, but Billy did not give her a chance. And the pain of not sharing these news become very evident at the funeral. Even though she does not appear pregnant at the funeral - the stomach does not show any sign of pregancy, I do want to believe that she was expecting Billy's son. Which adds to the twisted nature of the script, EPIC.
