in greek, gyro is the accusative form of the word and gyro is the nominative. english doesnt have cases, but greeks will call it either one depending on where in the sentence even in english bc it makes sense. if its the subject like "gyros is the best" then its gyros, and if its the object like "i ate gyro yesterday" then its gyro. also the g is pronounced like a 'y' (technically between a y and a j) so its like yiros not gyros with a hard g, because of greek phonetics and blahblahlah. noone really lost a letter or put one on extra, they probably just heard the different form of the word

the 100yrs of driving vs a single B52 mission is so stark. I remember looking at temperature graphs from climatologists, and had wondered just what exactly caused the insane ramp-up starting around 2003-2004 to today, and it's really that simple isn't it? it's war. it's constant, insane, ultraheavy *war* for the past couple decades straight, the forever war that's destroying our planet.

As a greek, î think the reason for the gyros discrepancy is because of grammatical case; it is ο γύρος in nominativ but τον γυρο in genitive. Ather forms aulso includ gyru gyre gyr(o)i gyrōn etc. Normally greek loan words into Ênglish either hav theyr cases remuved, or are rendered in nomativ. Bût since this is a very rêcent and ûnofficial uan, it makes sens there will be sam confusion.

The military industrial complex is so entangled in the U.S. economy, they are one and the same. Every major metropolitan city is what it is because of surrounding military bases. Both coasts and through the south. It's nearly impossible to untangle at this point. It's a sick and demented way to develop a nation's economy.

Shawarma is the surpreme wrap. Afterwards comes the Quesadilla and afterwards comes the Lahmacun (as long as you add either meat or feta cheese). Döner is a Solid Nr.4. If its really good, with handmade bread and all I can imagine promoting it to Nr.3

@@redlion45 I mean if you order Döner and Shawarma here in Germany you're going to get two very different things. One is served in toasted Pita, the other one in a roll. And the meat tastes very different too. The Lahmacun version you're talking about makes my mouth water, sounds very tasty

@@angryyordle4640 _"I mean if you order Döner and Shawarma here in Germany you're going to get two very different things. One is served in toasted Pita, the other one in a roll."_ In Germany the main difference between Döner and Shawarma is the veggies they put into: Shawarma will have a whole bunch of pickled stuff in it, also it will be chicken meat. Döner Kebap will usually have no or very little pickled veggies, more fresh ones instead, both are usually served in flatbread, "Pita" is Greek style flat bread one would get served with Gyros (pig meat). There are even food regulations that stipulate if somebody sells something as "Döner Kebap" the meat in it has to have a certain quality/can only be of certain types, while Shawarma are not really regulated at all. Tho a lot of Syrians have started opening Döner Kebap shops because of the "brand power" over Shawarma, giving competition to German Turks, some of which ain't really thrilled about that. Source: Have lived right next to one of Germanys largest refugee reception centers for the past 20 years, with every war the West starts new people arrive here and bring their food with them.

Yugo, Stroh, while a somewhat popular in the nordics, is not a Nordic drink. You should try Fernet for the authentic alcoholic Nordic experience. It’s essentially a spice blend mixed with alcohol that was believed to hold healing properties. Nowadays it’s more so used as a prank/punishment for new drinkers/losers in drinking games. It has a pretty strong licorice taste (kind of like jägermeister), but more herb-y and way worse. It’s not a Nordic drink either (if we’re talking origins), but it’s very popular over here. For example my father used to play drinking games where the loser had to take a shot of fernet, making it an actual punishment rather than having something like vodka.
@n3rdy11
@n3rdy11 24 күн бұрын
I was so confused when Yugo located "Stroh" in the Nordics, even tho his pronounciation of "Stroh" was pretty on point for German/Austrian "Strohrum" which goes up to 80% alcohol, but is supposed to be used in baking/spicing up a hot beverage, not drink purely.
@alfredandersson875
@alfredandersson875 25 күн бұрын
I’m very sorry to Yugo, but over here in the Nordics our gyros, döner, ćevapi, and tacos are (mostly) more or less interchangeable, unless you know where to go and what to order. Most chains boil down to the question of whether or not you want a tex-mex flavored roll, a spicy roll, or a more (sometimes) flavorful experience. Different stores obviously produce different food. Essentially the mindset of ordering is as follows: “do I want a non-spicy slop taco? Tacos it is.” “Do I want a somewhat spicy slop taco? Gyros or döner it is.”, “Do I want spicy taco? Then ćevapi or shawarma it is”. Very few places can actually distinguish between a spicy fajita, a shawarma roll, a gyros/döner roll/sandwich, and a ćevapi roll. You have to know your street to be able to enjoy actual, somewhat authentic food.
@alfredandersson875
@alfredandersson875 25 күн бұрын
Also by spicy I mostly mean spices as in flavor and herbs, but the more authentic food you order the more spice (as in capsicum) you tend to get as well.

Idk about where JT lives, but i live in a pretty conservative part of Michigan and i talk to Trump supporters all the time about the over inflated military budget and they usually agree with me. Their thing is usually they don't like someone bashing the individuals in the military who are often family members, but if you explain to them that those people could be better used building infrastructure at home than destroying it abroad, they're usually pretty receptive. You just have to come at it from a practical standpoint and not a culturally liberal one if that makes sense. In fact, i usually find that those who have a more culturally liberal standpoint are oftentimes more likely to be bloodthirsty. That's my personal experience tho, so take it with a grain of salt i guess

The most important question in our life is the question of private ownership of the means of production: private ownership in the hands of the workers of the enterprise, or in the hands of people who do not create surplus value?
@ImmortalRevan
@ImmortalRevan 28 күн бұрын
If the workers own the means of production, it's no longer private ownership. It's public ownership, in the hands of the people for the common good, instead of in the hands of the few for their own ever-expanding profits.

I'm from the UK and am petitioning my leaders to turn certain areas into "content farms"(definitely not gulags😉) these include Luton, Redditch, Milton Keynes, Scunthorpe and Royston Vasey. Part of my proposal is that we charge countries who want to repatriate their clout goblin citizens to these content communes a small fee. This will help pay for the extras pretending to be indignant, the brightly coloured paint and rehabilitation for those that can be rehabilitated. Oh also the electrified barbed wire, "content guards", minefields, and bunting. A little bit of bunting and it's easy to sell anything to the English citizenry on anything, how else have the royals got a way with it for so long?
