​@@appa609 Eh, it has a relaxing effect on me. I'll have two beers after a stressful day, and that's about my limit. To each their own though :) Also, a lot of people are actually hooked on booze. Physically and mentally. It's relatively easy to get addicted, and once you are there's an instinctual urge to drink. Also, it can be appealing to people suffering from trauma because it has a sort of deadening effect on emotional suffering, but it's self destructive because drinking almost always makes your personal situation worse, so there's more suffering, so you want to drink more, and so on. Source: Personal experience with alcoholism, and experience with late family members who struggled with alcoholism and drug use. Also random bits of literature on addiction as well as a couple podcasts. :p
