I've only just come across this fan production, as well as its precursor, 'Needs of the Many', and holding Enterprise as my second all-time favorite Star Trek series, they two blew me out of the water. They both feel like legitimate sequences straight out of that era. The set design is frankly awe-inspiring. And the acting, superb. Great job!!
@jakesoft6 жыл бұрын
This was quite well done from the sets to props and costumes. The acting was even good. It all looked very authentic, so great job and thanks. I just don't understand how the bad guy with no obvious superhuman abilities avoided getting shot twice by victims who literally had their hands on phaser pistols. The second guy even had it drawn and had time to react, but he pinned himself to the wall instead of shooting. That's my only nit in an otherwise very enjoyable fan film that looks and feels like a lost episode of Enterprise.

After watching so many mediocre fan-films, this is really surprising. The quality of acting is first rate and all of the effects outstanding. This is better than some of the broadcast shows. I always thought that "Enterprise" was super under-rated and cancelled only because most people didn't get UPN back then. This production would have fit in perfectly with Enterprise. Nice job... and thanks.

This is an excellent fan film! It could be right out of an Enterprise episode. Good acting, an awesome set, the music was matching perfectly, the Starfleet uniforms and the props are screen accurate (= perfect). I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.

This is quality of what should be coming out of CBS instead of the new ST Disaster. This the best I've seen. Its up there with ST Continues or actually better in many ways. The bad guy's voice and mannerism sounds a lot like Dr. Soran from the ST Generations movie. Keep up the great work! Would love to see more and longer episodes. Maybe even have a ST: Challenger series.......Superb A++

while this fan film was really really good I wouldn't go as far as saying it was better than Star Trek discovery .
@j.griffin5 жыл бұрын
$ for $, it’s MUCH better. STD is one of the most expensive series ever produced- it woefully underperforms considering those resources. That is aside from all controversies- from a professional perspective, it’s simply a disaster. It was intended to gain subscribers, not to just be fodder for those who binge watch and then cancel their subscriptions -OR- watch just a bit and then cancel.

If I am ever in a nightmarish crisis, I will make sure to refer to it in the most information-free manner, by calling it "an incident" after momentarily looking to one side. This will help ensure anyone getting my message won't have a frickin' clue what the problem is.
@Antifag19773 жыл бұрын
The writers should've added a communications disruption because it doesn't make sense why the guy on the away team duo wouldn't radio the ship when he couldn't reach his partner and especially after he found that dead body. The first thing they did when they entered was contact the ship so we know that the communications isn't jammed. . That part aside this was a great production and even moreso considering it's fan made.

I just recall alot of the rules CBS and paramount made for fan productions one of which were "can not look professional" or must be a REAL fan production. What does that even mean? Cant look better than anything we do? SO petty. It also can not be longer than 15 minutes and can only have two parts. ECT. Its a joke. I love trek alot. but CBS/Paramount are petty.

By FAR AND AWAY 9ne of the finest fan films of any franchise I've ever seen!!! The writing, the acting, the production values, the sound design, the cinematography, the pacing, the music. On point, all of it. Any minor details that were questionable were wholly irrelevant because the story was compelling and the acting was so good. I give this a solid 9/10 (the not shooting the bad guy thing was the final 1/10th for me). So impressed!!! Please DO make your anthology project a reality.

Wow - excellent job all around here - but I really must say whomever did the sound design and sound effects editing on this one REALLY knocked that aspect out of the park. My one nitpick though - once the body (clearly murdered too) stuffed in the compartment was discovered, you'd think he'd make a call back to the Challenger and maybe request some security beamed over; or at least give them an update? ;)

Thank you so much for your feedback! I actually did the sound design for this one, and Clayton (our DOP) polished the dialogue for the final mix, so very pleased you enjoyed it. I could quote Starfleet Regulation 476.9, which say that Away Team personnel only need to report to the bridge "at least" once every 24hrs, however that is an excellent point! Ahaha! So I was doing the weekly perusing of fan films, and to be honest, so many of them have such kind comments (I think that's just good supportive Trekkies) even though the film was not great, sometimes actually terrible. So I started this one, and was NOT prepared for the :20 second mark! This one, the comments (although I always hate the ones that always use fan films to bash TV Trek, it seems to detract from the actual fan film) are genuine and accurate. I LOVED the cinematography, and the set design, the acting was believable and fantastic, and the audio was excellent... But what really struck me, is the exclusion of CGI and exterior ship shots. I hope this was a conscious choice because it was almost like reading a book. Your imagination pictures the Challenger, but I also really like how it puts your perspective in the eyes of the crew. I bet they rarely see the exterior of any of the ships apart from a shuttle trip or the occasional space google. Also, I bet from a production standpoint that makes things a bit easier and cheaper! Four solid gold pips out of four!

Visually very good, sound design excellent too. A simple plot, but you don't get much room for more in the CBS "don't threaten to better our product" era of fan productions, and the acting was a bit below where it could have been. However, the simple fact that all of that is with me comparing it to Enterprise, rather than other fan productions, says a lot about what has been achieved.

And you got the reach them before they get to the big stars and get to the big money make it after that there are out of your reach by doing work on fan film if you pay them they can add that to their resume in the IMDb database it's always best to use students for the colleges for your production staff and crew that way you can pull off a damn good decent film under a budget

Great sets n acting. But the plot? Why send only 2 people, with no security guards, to explore a seemingly abandoned ship? Anything could have been the reason: From hostile alien life forms that don’t register on SF equipment to disease. And then they split up? Not safe.
