Great episode! One of my favorites! I love when DVD is trying to be quiet and he opens the jewelry box.I know its coming but still laugh just as hard as the first time I watched it. This show still makes me lol! One of my top 3 favorite shows of all time since the mid 1960's.

I love Sam Melville & Kate Jackson on The Rookies. That show took a different approach to police work. The plots still hold my interest.Mary Tyler Moore Show was like watching a joke machine especially when Ed Weinberger & Stan Daniels wrote the episode.Ted was my favorite followed by Valerie,Cloris and Mary.Mary would be first but the others had such funny lines. They don't write like that anymore.

@bettycogswell9851 First he put gun in closet by the front door, while they would be in bed. So dumb! But then took it out afraid Richie would get it. Bullet in music box with loud music. Then Laura sneaks out of bedroom behind Rob who has loaded the gun and doesn't know where she is. Ends up getting robbed anyway. 🙄😖🤷‍♀️

Dick Van Dyke's comment and gesture about, "Mark Seven", and the police detective's bewilderment, might have been an inside joke. Mark VII was the name of Actor/Producer Jack Webb's production company that produced the, "Dragnet", crime detective TV series. Barney Phillips, the actor playing the police detective here, was a regular on, "Dragnet", playing one of Jack Webb's detective partners.

Well. Trading comments : I love the dock van dyke show. The gun was only dangerous in a scared persons hand a trained veteran would know that firing a bullet into the air, the bullet has to come down as well as putting a joke in your roof. Then. Why wouldn’t Laura stay put. Why follow around your husband without him knowing she is following him?
