@@systemsproceed248 It's a reference to Edward Platt who's playing Lou here- Platt famously played the Chief on other very popular 1960's sitcom "Get Smart" and that was a famous line used on almost every episode by Agent Smart. I couldn't resist 😁. It's a 60s thing... 😄

@@jason60chev You just made my night! 😆 About 10 yrs ago I thought I was having a stroke (turned out to be nothing but a potassium drop out of the blue, but anyway) I called an ambulance and my sister told me to take an aspirin. When the paramedics were transporting me they said "oo- actually aspirin not good. Aspirin's good for heart attack but not stroke". Later that day when I related the story to my brother, he looked kind of like "Yikes" and said (of our sister's error) "Oops. Sorry about that Chief" Omg it was so funny - It was a welcome laugh after the day I'd had! 😆 (and yes, my poor sister was indeed horrified that she had gotten THAT wrong!! 🤯 Very unlike her, and of all things omg.)

That $10.00 that 'Rob' won in 1964 is equivalent to about *$96.00* in 2023! 😲 I'd be just a little angry too if I had lost!

I never realized how many of these episodes were flashback. No wonder, as a kid, when I first watched these I had a hard time with the time lines. I used to think they had no kids in earlier episodes but now I realize those were flash backs.

That's a really stodgy and unpleasant Edward C. Platt as the former D.A. Platt suffered a period of such extreme depression that he tried to kill himself three times and finally succeded in his 50's. Don Adams from Get Smart was a friend to him up till the end.

We get a few quick glimpses of the "fourth wall" behind Jerry and Millie's closeups. With their backs to the audience/cameras, they had to pick up those shots after the main performance.

@@shorty7363I saw him as a mean person. Especially when he put an angry face and turned away when Ritchie walked in twice. The first time the wife told the ex DA that Ritchie was adorable and shakes his shoulder to look at Ritchie, but he just kept looking at his cards and wouldn't turn to look. I'm still wondering why the ex DA was so upset and wouldn't turn to look at Ritchie like he hated him, maybe he lost a kid, or was afraid of something.

Considering Larry Mathews was a horrible actor, they might as well have let Rob Riener play "Richie".
@kristabrewer6736 Жыл бұрын
That might have been cute (except that Rob Reiner wouldn't have been any more well-known than Larry Mathews)
@matthewwallack601 Жыл бұрын
Rob Reiner is 8 years older than Mathews. Acting talent (or lack of it) aside, you either would have needed a different actor swap (if you did it mid series) or a different character entirely.
