I heard only 500 Les Paul Gibson Goldtop was built in 1957. 12.000 still exist. What a wonderful miracle!🤩

Just unboxed my new LP Special. Another piece of perfection from Gibson. Wow, do I ever love this one. It will proudly sit alongside the rest of my Les Pauls.

I have both and I use them for different styles of music. The Les Paul Modern has so many tones available while the Special has the tones I love for low-fi rock. You need both.

Thanks a lot for your video. How do you compare the Modern neck with a standard Gibson ? Who has the fatter neck ?
@tuco87345 жыл бұрын
I prefer the original collection . I’ve been looking at and playing new 2019 Les Pauls lately and I must say Gibson still has a way to go with quality control . There has been some improvement but not enough to justify the high prices they are still demanding.
@yz1275 жыл бұрын
Robert Marler Agreed. When these new model finally made their way to Australia, I visited every local music store and tried many of them. They are great guitars but I bought two fenders instead.
@Panic420005 жыл бұрын
My two 19s had zero problems. With that being said, you people that think these MASS produced guitars are going to be perfect every time are deluded. I just bought a two thousand dollar tele with a pickup not wired up correctly. If you want perfection it’s custom shop and that not a guarantee.
@tuco87345 жыл бұрын
BenS123 nobody said they had to be perfect but for $2000 bucks I do expect that it’s playable and doesn’t look like it’s beat up . I too have purchased a 2019 Les Paul but I had to sort through them to find a good one . As for the statement about “ you people “, don’t play like you are so much more wise and knowledgeable. I’ve been playing guitar , and buying them , for over 45 years . I can remember when Gibson made much higher quality guitars consistently than they do now .
@Panic420005 жыл бұрын
Robert Marler Your entire commit is just stupid!!! I bet your one of those people that cry if the guitar is not in tune when you pick it up? Gibson is not sending out guitars that are beat up, give me a break!! You do know that there are cases when a guitar needs a setup right? Especially when people beat the shit out of it all day in store? Wow!! You sound like a crybaby!

The LP Special TV Yellow is just gorgeous, and there is some special vibe on the Special with P90's, that the Standard Gold with P90's doesn't have, in my opinion. Both are amazing guitars but I want that Yellow :)

i think the real reason its called tv yellow is because it is a telecaster. why would gibson want the student striped down version on tv.

Let's dispute the 'T.V' Yellow origin story of yellow looking better on TV in the 50s, once and for and all: Think about it: what is the likelihood that a professional musician who was fortunate and rare enough to make it onto a televised program would be using a guitar that was aimed to the student and beginner demographic? Anyone see Joe Bonamassa playing a Fender Squire lately?
@TeleCaster662 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, good point. I laughed at Squiers until I did a gig opening for Ronnie Spector in the early 90's and Daniel Rey was playing lead guitar on a Squier and it sounded great. I've had a couple and though they aren't like my custom shop Strat they are fun.

I also noticed that too. I think they are hard to get ahold of. The colors are ok. When they came out people were mad at Gibson. I just got one in a trade. They are really awesome in person, I picked up a red one. I think when all the people get tired of their 10 to 13 pound Les Paul’s they will run to them. It’s a cool model insane specs, ebony boards. Definitely worth a try. I don’t like the clear knobs, I switched them out.

They are all weak sauce sad to say. Gibson brand name went to shit when they moved to Tennessee around 83 or 84. ever since they have been all about short cuts and over charging without giving a EF what us consumers think. Heritage guitars. They still operate out of the factory that MADE Gibson Gibson. Buy from them. They offer better everything basically. If you buy a gibson from Tennessee and it actually holds up over the decades, it just means you're lucky. As the ol saying goes. If your new gibson stays in tune... Must be fake china stuff lol.
