Thanks for the comparison between the two sanders. I had just purchased 1 orbital sander and 1 rotary sander before I stumbled upon your video. Those sanders are different brand from yours. At first I was considering buying bosch but i was looking for a built in vaccum. So I ended up buying other brand. I'll be using orbital sander primarily on ceiling corners. Thank you. I just sent a support on your channel.

Thanks for introducing those two. As I know, it has to be limit to less than 3000 rpm for car polishing. My question for variable speed control of the random orbit sander, can it really do the car polishing?
@ATKCeWarehouse
@ATKCeWarehouse 4 жыл бұрын
Personally, I do not suggest. The no-load speed: 7,500 - 12,000 rpm, which is still much higher than the 3000rpm.

hello my friend. Yes you can use it for polishing with a 5 dollar modification. You will have to buy a speed controller for 110-220v ac current and plug the tool to the speed controller. you can then reduce the rpm to a polishing speed. And since it will be an external speed controller you can use it to all your corded tools. don't forget, people are using angle grinders aswell for polishing reasons.

I spend more money on sandpaper than all other tools combined. I can cut and install any sand paper to fit the 1/4 sheet orbital sander, not so with a random orbital. Sanding costs are about 1/4 with the orbital sander, plus much easier to control and develop a very light touch.

Can a grinder be converted into a sander? I mean is it okay?

2 concerns here: 1) grinder usually has high rpm, and do not have speed adjuster. 2) The rotation axis is fix and depending on the user - which might resulting over sanding.

I bought the Ryobi 7000-13000+ rpm 130 watt 125mm orbiter random sander (Bunnings ran out of the Bosch one [funny how they always have a surplus of shit hanging from discount trees on every corner of every aisle yet you often can't find something of quality that you need] "Lowest Qualitie's Just the Beginning!" ) and had a go on varnished table top using diablo 40 - 240 grit. The 40 dug swirls into the wood that I couldn't get rid of in some sections :( even when aggressively hand sanding inline. I'm not very impressed to be honest but perhaps using it lightly on varnish and paint with suitable high number grit (and many pieces of it) to make the sanding easy and then doing the rest by hand at medium and then light strength.

@@ATKCeWarehouse I bought an orbital sander from Tolsen company through Lazada. I thought it was good when I run it. It was more than a month when I really tested it sanding but to my frustration it doesn't really work even just its weight and you don't pressure on it. I think it was intended for buffing not for sanding. It overheats and it can't rotate when the whole sanding pad is on the surface of the metal.

I purchased a used one as the piece is a bit pricey, but the machine kzbin.infoUgkxG6fbm3cHBd7CNTjk5D-dwYe9c9tCB9ZN has surpassed my expectations. We sand small parts by hand often, sized around 1"x1/2," and specifically look for a piece that's designed to be vertical. The motor has plenty of torque and great speed settings. The only inconvenience I had is that the disk measures 5" where we trim 6" stick-and-sand disks down easily by mounting it then cutting with a box cutter.

another example of humanity devolving en masse. i use a B&D hand drill from 1980, with a 5" sanding pad. it's getting a bit wobbly after over 40 years, i thought i'd buy an inexpensive sander, but i was dismayed to find there are no simple round, rotary sanders, but all of them have these complicated gear designs which i cannot see lasting 40+ years of use. if i need to i will replace it with another hand drill and rotary pad. humanity, learn how to use the simple strong tool to get a good result, instead of making inferior tools that will continually break because you believed some stupid thing sold to you.
