That burger looked amazing! When we cook giant burgers like this (or even just larger regular sized burgers) we'll do a low and slow oven treatment first. 200º oven, bring the inside to about 100º, and then take it to the grill for finishing.
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
Yeah you almost have to have some sort of oven/indirect part of the cook when it's this big :)

You could do a smoke indirect first and then finish with a sear, sure. I've done that on smoked burgers before. Works really well :)
@johndavidson9403 жыл бұрын
That's one heck of a burger. That would cost about $35 in a pub. And if you can't finish it, an extra $10 for being a show off and failing😁 All kidding a side, nice cook. I would settle for a 6 oz patty myself. A local grocer sells a 10 pack of 1/4 lb, fresh pattys. They are about 3/4 inch thick and after shrinkage in the cooking fit a regular burger bun perfectly. Diameter wise it looks to be a small burger, but it's not really cause it has the thickness that is not seen in bugers often. The 10 pack is $10.00. I wish they sold them in 4 packs. Ten is just too many burgers to have in short period of time. I am not one to freeze extras. I think the flavor would be diminished a bit if freezing them and cooking later. You should've put the cheese in the middle of the patty for the largest Jucy Lucy cooked on the net. For a burger that size though, probably need 3-4 slices of cheese..

According to highly reliable news from N. Korea, Kim Yong Il invented the burger and us common people just copy him. Beside that fact, I don’t understand why especially burgers are frowned on by chefs who has managed to make a name for themselves. I find that a burger becomes bit better if some minced port is mixed with mixed beef. Reason being pork contains more fat and keeps things more juicy. Especially so if the burger patty is of normal more flat type. Your burger is perfect size for lunch or dinner 👍🏻
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
Perfect size for multiple people :)

If you put some bacon in the burger then put bacon grease on the burger it might be better just an idea and maby season the sides of the burger
@CookingWithRy5 жыл бұрын
Yeah those sides were thick enough to take some seasoning :)

Big daddy burger AKA as heart attack at 58 your moving there brah
@DavePruett6 жыл бұрын
It's a beautiful recipe, but I'd make it about ¼ as thick. A matter of taste, of course, and I know some people subscribe to "bigger is better," but I don't want to wrestle with the burger and go Anaconda to get my mouth around it. I also like a better balance between meat-bun-and fixin's. Again, only expressing me personal taste. I have no problem with anyone who wants a burger twice this thick or with paper-thin patties. Make your burger as you like it! Thickness aside, the ingredients and recipe look fantastic!
@CookingWithRy6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, I generally prefer a more manageable burger. I just wanted to push the limits on this one :)
