@@angelkitty7941 i mean, to put it as simply as I can, he eats up a lot of space and takes a lot of presence with newer teto fans. Despite using Teto for years, and despite having shown at least an interest in producing original songs, he seems to continually play it safe with project diva covers and meme songs. A lot of newer Teto fans also really exaggerate just how skilled Tanjiro is as well, which is to be expected from newer Teto fans, who don't really know a lot of Teto producers. (I also have a sneaking suspicion that he wants people to think he's the best Teto producer? For a time his Twitter bio was something like "Teto's producer on KZbin". Maybe it's a language barrier thing, or poor word choice, but it felt like he was giving himself that title) When I was a new Teto fan, I only knew about Tanjiro as a Teto producer. I thought he was the best producer at the time. When I started looking around harder for Teto music, I was able to find a lot of producers who did more exciting covers with Teto and were generally more skilled with UTAU (as in being able to even perfectly tune Defoko, which is an incredible feat -- check out Yasutange's channel, you might recognize his art). You also find a lot of really really awesome original Teto songs that Tanjiro never gives attention to unless they're already fairly popular with the wider Vocaloid community, like Fukkireta or Yoshiwara Lament. You would think that "Teto Justice" should celebrate the amazing originals we have, and not just be the most popular Teto songs, and project diva covers? He's not a bad producer by any means, but he's far from the best, and I think people way overhype and exaggerate his ability, and I think it affects his ego.

As a long time vocal synth enthusiast (being a user of UTAU and SynthV, and a long time fan of VOCALOID + other vocal synths), I actually commemorate the effort into researching the history of Teto and UTAU in general, especially coming from a general anime fan who probably know her (Teto + Miku) through like other medias, I really appreciate and thank you for bringing the light of the community to the non-vocal synth people! However, I would like give a bit of corrections and additional details here and there you might've missed when explaining some stuff about Teto and UTAU in general! 1. In 3:40, actually, when Teto was first conceived, her side arm tattoo actually only said "04" and not "0401" yet. The idea actually come from the fact that at the time Teto was made, Crypton (the ppl behind Miku) only released Miku, Rin and Len, which goes by the character codes "CV01" ("01" tattoo for Miku) and "CV02" ("02" tattoo for Rin and Len). Counting that there are 3 characters released so far by Crypton at the time, Teto was teased as a "fourth character" in Crypton's "Character Vocal" series, which is why she initially only got a "04" tattooed on her. Of course, her tattoo changed to "0401", to reflect the April Fools date once she had an UTAU voicebank and in a way to make her unique. 2. Other than Teto, v1p (or VIP, idk how to say it tbh), the group on 2ch actually made more characters than Teto, as Teto and these other characters were part of the "VIPPERLOID" line of troll Vocaloids, which later became UTAUloids. The more well known ones include: - Namine Ritsu: a robot guy who cross dresses as a girl, have long red hair, a large dress with a small hat, and according to his official info, likes chinese cabbage and have hidden missiles in his chest (which is also why he's VERY heavy lol). He is well known in the UTAU community to be one of the earliest UTAUloids to actually sound realistic when tuned properly (before Yamine Renri and Gahata Meiji, two UTAUloids who is also very well known to sound realistic and high quality). - Yokune Ruko: A bigender/intersex character (90% male, 10% female), with black hair made as short pigtails, a unique outfit with a blue tie, and heterochromia eyes of blue and red to reflect the bigender aspect. They have a pretty unique powerful vocal conceived within two types of voices that you can get, which is "♂" (their masculine side) and "♀" (their feminine side). - Sukone Tei: A very Kei-styled character with long white hair, blood red eyes, and a dress coloured in black and red. They are well known to have a soft voice, and a "yandere" obsession with Kagamine Len... for some reason... 3. Ofc while Teto has "friends" just as in Triple Baka, she does actually have canonical friends (other than the VIPPERLOIDs), and they were the other UTAUloids, Momone Momo (well known for voicing the iconic Nyan Cat song, which is actually a Momo cover of a Miku song) and Defoko (Defoko is actually the default voice for UTAU, being preinstalled with the program). They are often referred to as "The 3 UTAU Girls" since they are known to be one of the more earliest known UTAU vocals in the history of UTAU. 4. At 13:09, the Fukkireta that was used in this clip wasn't actually the Teto original, but rather the more viewed human cover of the song by Lon... Before I watched this, from the title, I thought it was going to be some horrific backstory for the source of the voice and how we're all evil for liking Teto and using Teto to make music. I think Teto's obsession with french bread is because it's considered to be the cheapest food you can get, cheaper than instant noodles. Poverty food for the poverty software (can't afford Miku). But even though baguettes are cheap, they are still delightful. I noticed that ever since Synth V came out, Teto songs seem a lot less "napoleon complex" and more about blurring the lines between truth and lies, good and evil. Lyrics in recent songs like Hito Mania, Mesmerizer, 責任集合体 (Societal Responsibility?), and Liar Dancer have relatively dark themes about trying to "fit in" to society. Is it inherently fake? Is it bad to expose the ugly truths? Teto keeps her upbeat nature, and that itself feels fake when contrasted against the angsty lyrics.

Are you not even going to end it with some song recommendations? To name a few: - Masarada, someone who comes pretty much out of nowhere and releases three of the most insanely powerful songs of the year 2023. The first one super catchy, the second one very touching, and the third one being very "ultra" true to its title. They definitely have some past experience but it's still impressive as hell. - Iyowa released BABEL, a very rich song about the passage of time that has SynthV Teto sing in duet with UTAU Teto - Yoshida Yasei's very catchy Override - Frog 96, who makes fantastic use of the Teto's UTAU voicebank in "lost delusion" and "Letter to the black world" (a favourite of mine) - You could also have mentioned Koronba's UTAU songs and the "style" his popularity has created You may stop reading there as I'm going to be a hater from now on. This is not advice for change or anything, if your videos work, then they work and it's fine. It's just a rant I have to get out of my system: I dislike this video format, I clicked on your stuff once when you released your Cookie, and ever since then you've occasionally been appearing in my recommendations, each time with those very unappealing "X is... le UNHINGED" title. I want to believe that your love for what you're talking about is real, the pinned comment on this video does showcase it in a pretty genuine way, but the video itself is like... fucking hell "The Disgusting Truth Behind Teto Kasane". I know that it's part of your core format, but the "wow this is so whacky epic brainrot" vibes always put me off, everything has this kind of, memebrained semi-ironic undertone: - 5:54 "oooooh it's le epic CURSE of the MAAAAD they take druuuuuuuuuuuuugs - ooooooooooh she's le abomination that needs to be contained Though there are some segments I like about the video, mostly when the tone gets a bit more straightforward - I think it's good that you end up going over the whole journey, because it's very inspiring to see something like that grow to such size out of sheer passion and dedication, I found Yam Albat's title "From April Fool's Joke to Star Idol" to be something I was much more inclined to click on compared to your video's title (though you did the "history" part more thoroughly than her). - It's really cool that you could get to know and love teto and how it became your gateway to vocaloid It's tough, because I feel like overall you'd be a cool person to have more genuine talks with, with lots of actual passion for the thing they like, but the sheer distaste I have for the vibe of your videos makes me avoid them altogether. I know (or at least hope) it's not really the case, but watching your stuff I mostly feel "Wow I really like the feeling of liking le epic underground cursed gremelin Teto that nobody else knows about" and not "Wow I really love Teto". At the end of the day it's just my problem for having such an issue with it. I really can't handle the constant post-ironic meme-brained behavior I see in western parts of some subcultures. People can't just say they really like something, there has to be this thin veil of irony over everything over the fear of showing genuine passion, and then it becomes more like an "aesthetic" than anything else, with people only ever engaging with the "memes". It's an issue I have with many communities at large, so I'm sorry that your video specifically was the trigger for this big-ass rant. That said, keep doing what makes you happy and don't listen too much to what I say. No need to change when you have many people who actually love the way you do things. I'll be hiding your channel now as I wish you the best for the future.

Shoutout to yasai31 who makes both incredible fanart and covers, my favorite is their "Angel 92" cover (song by maretu) which I honestly like more than the original (which as a miku simp is rare for me to like any cover over miku's). And they cover with both UTAU and SynthV versions, sometimes using both for a single song.

I found this to be a really nice and sweet video, defo made from a lot of love. :3 That said... I think it's pretty sad how there was no mention at all of the people behind teto, twindrill, or even teto's voice provider oyamano mayo... Twindrill's work towards teto is genuinely astonishing, they aren't a company like crypton (the ones who manage miku), they are a circle of very passionate people. And I think what they do is super inspiring And worth talking about. ^^ It's just a lil nitpick though,,,, I have to mention again, this is a very sweet video, and I enjoyed watching it. For a look into older very important kasane teto works, I really reccomend death ohagi, harufuri, and asa. :>
