The most important aspect of part 1.....be patient 😉. I've already been in 10-2 strike sooo... patience is a virtue. They call me chicken in their messages bur as you all know... chicken is delicious afterall 😂

As a "used to be" yolo and random sub player..i have made every single mistake on video 1 and 2🤦..slowly getting rid of the old habits tho 😂

So did I!! The only difference is I made those mistakes while playing MK9 in 2011 rather than now.

To all my sub players and and the sub scientists!! Can somebody please figure out a way to deal with “zoners” while using sub. I cannot stand wrecking somebody the first round and then they play keep away the rest of the round! Drives me absolutely nuts! 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤

Zoning is not that strong in this game fortunately and Sub-Zero is one of the characters that is most immune to it because of his Slide, Klone and Ice Punch. So, if you're fighting a zoner, assess the properties of their projectile. If it's a high projectile, then we can Slide under it on a read or even sometimes on reaction. With certain Kameos like Janet, Cyrax or Mavado, we can even combo people from our Slide after they try zoning us. If the projectile is a mid or low like Sindel or Liu Kang, we can use either the Klone or Ice Punch to block that projectile. If you use the Klone, you still have time to throw something else at them like an Ice Ball or your Kameo. But in general, the best thing you can do is to be patient - walk toward the opponent and make them run to the corner. Once they get too close, they will have to do something risky to avoid being cornered and that's when you can strike them. And don't forget that Sub pairs well with both Khameleon and Sub-Zero - Kameos that nullify zoning with their Ambus attacks, so use those too. Which character are you having the most trouble with?

I appreciate the response! 😄 The opponents I have trouble with or just seem to zone me out the most are Lui Kangs, reiko and noob saibot (mainly because of his teleport) I hold my own with sub (thanks to you! I’ve followed and watched all your videos! Quick thanks!) but once people get worked the first round it’s immediately back walk and throw projectiles. Chip me out or catch me tryna close the distance. It’s frustrating to say the least LOL but yes. I should practice being more patient
