@@23kingalex The homegrown arms literally have it worse. Sheehan-TJ, missed this year and will miss part of next year. Gonsolin-TJ, missed the second half of last year and all of this year. Ryan-TJ, missed the rest of the season and will miss all of next year. May-elbow surgery, and esophagus surgery. Missed all of this year, will be out for part of next year too. Frasso-was set to debut this year. TJ, didn't debut, probably missing time next year. Buehler-missed most of 2022 with TJ, all of last year, and part of this year, and was ineffective during the regular season this year. Kershaw-shoulder fatigue, came back, and then fractured his big toe. The first time in a long time it's not his back acting up. Stone-started the season in the minors, actually threw the most IP of any Dodger in the regular season at 140, then his arm gave out on him, making him miss the final three weeks of the season. Yamamoto-came over from Japan, arm gave out after pitching into the 7th for the first time in MLB, missed two months and came back right when Stone went down.

You could've just said "I don't want the Dodgers to spend on him, they could use the money elsewhere" or "I want the Dodgers to target a different area of need" and left it at that instead of making up bullshit reasons that have nothing to do with on-field play.

Soto has such a different additude than the dodgers whole team, he is to ego driven to run hard after a pop fly in foul territory in a world series, hes to ego driven to throw a ball in to a cutoff man and instead short hops it to torres when ohtani was safe by a mile, not being mindeful of who is running. The guy can hit very well but he lacks alot of mental things i think that people over look. He doesnt seem like a good guy to have in the locker room either, i dont see him wanting to play with ohtani because he will take the spot light over him. Look at betts and freeman, both top tier amazing players some of the best and they are highly overshadowed by ohtani by the media as opposed to when ohtani wasnt on the team. He needs the attention and he wont like having all those other top guys taking his spotlight. He will probably stay in new York i think because the fans obsess over him, and i think that will play a factor

Remember, the players association always wants the players to get everything they’re worth… Everything trickles down and every comparable contract is used in negotiations… If players are taking discounts it may help the team but it’s screwing other players in the long run… If a handful of pitchers worth 260 mil take between 200-215 mil over the same years, the pitcher worth 210 mil will see his contract get smaller since he’s not worth what the other guys are getting (rinse and repeat until you get to guys making under 10) There’s nothing scummy or greedy in getting your worth from an organization that can and will give you your worth Also, Soto will stay in the Bronx… Players like Soto don’t just come to the Yankees and walk… Whatever any team offers, the Yankees will match it

Soto isn’t going to the Dodgers. He’s not pulling a Lebron move and going to a superteam that has already won without him. He aint a sore loser. I’m a Yankee fan and I think it’s more likely he would end up in the Mets if he doesn’t resign with the Yankees

I love this but we don’t need him. Give me pitching depth. Maybe some 1, 2 year deals to strengthen our depth. And a left handed swing and miss guy in the bullpen to go along with Banda and Vesia. And re sign teoscar!

There is likely a 90% chance Soto ends up with the Dodgers if Soto wants to be a Dodger and is just looking for the best contract.

Soto is a guy who would fit teams like Padres, Yankees or Phillies. He could even become the captain but not in Dodgers. He would suffer and the ship will sink along with him.
@jimharper2180

That would not be a good idea for the long term. Soto is of course an insane generational talent… as a hitter. He will eventually have to transition into being a designated hitter, at which point, what do you do with both Ohtani and Soto on the same roster for multiple years? The Dodgers are already destined to be paying tens of millions of dollars to Betts, Ohtani, and Smith once they become less productive players in their late 30s, I don’t think it’s wise to add Soto to that list.

Soto will go to the highest bidder! So, the winner is: The New York Mets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the money which goes into the Yankees vault every season sometimes they run their operation like a candy store operation. And what's so crazy is Yankee fans will not boo Soto when he plays against the Yankees because they know the Steinbrenners have deep pockets and would never pay up the loot Soto deserves. And, New York fans always appreciate great players unless they are obnoxious like Bruce Harper or someone like him. Who will replace the void of Soto leaving the Yankees? No one. Then, what does that mean for the Yankees? Well, I'll rest my case. And, in the meanwhile, will someone please sit down with Aaron Judge and get him out of his funk? It's easy but no one seems to have the guts to do it. So, get a retired Hall of Famer if necessary to speak to him. He's human! He's not a God! He will never scream out, "HELP!" But, he needs help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not sure how Yankees pay for Soto and are able to construct the rest of the team, Hals constantly complaining about payroll and cbt so if Soto gets 50mill per year thats 200mill on Soto, Judge, Stanton, Cole, Rodon and Stroman leaving 90 mill to spend on 34 roster spots if he wants to stay under the Cohen tax bracket, Stroman has a year left but the others would be tied down for multiple years so that would be it for big trades for a while and the rookies and farm are weak imo, Soto could end up like Don Mattingly
