The dogs ears could be hurting from the echo and loudness of the piano. They also howl because of their instincts and the high frequencies that we can’t hear but the dogs can. when I play trumpet my dog does the same thing. Try putting the piano in a different room or reduce the echo.

Technically it's a baby grand... witch is the most common ( and practical ) grand piano type. Just because it's called a Baby grand dosent mean it's small. A "regular" grand piano can be between 10 and 20 feet long.

I dont know if im right but to me it seems like ryan has perfect pitch or at least relative pitch. He said he doesnt know how to read music but is able to arrange his dogs barking to different frequencies to recreate turkish march.
