Francine, I was as surprised as you, the first time I heard it and I was driving on a frwy and I was totally rockin' out. I got home and called a friend and said, "The Doors came out with a new song," and she was like, "Uhhhhhh, no" and I was shocked to learn that I just hadnt heard it before. Doors some history....... December 9, 1967, playing at the New Haven Arena, in New Haven,Connecticut . A cop found him before concert back Stage, kissing a girl. Cop said leave, he said we are not doing anything wrong. Cop Maced Jim Morrison, not knowing who he was. He did perform that night, during the Song, Back Door Man he told crowd what happened to him. Jim said, cops are supposed to protect us etc. The cops then went on stage in middle of concert, and arrested Jim. That’s why the line is in Peace Frog, “blood in the streets in the town of New Haven”. Funny fact, the arena is no longer there. It is now the FBI federal building. Joyce from New Haven. P.S. Always loved that the organ bridge to this song was sampled in 3rd Bass' "The Cactus." This song just got featured in the soundtrack to the new movie LICORICE PIZZA; I've seen it four times and always get a boost when the scene it's featured in comes up.

Another great reaction guys. The Doors were a band that was part of my late teens and i still love them today especially driving in my car at highway speed. May I suggest a song that I think you guys would really enjoy reacting to? Its called I Want To Break Free [ Live at Wembly 1986 ]. I believe he was arrested in New Haven at the New Haven Coliseum. The venue is no longer there but I spent most of the mid-late 70’s seeing concerts there. I was too young to have seen them there though…..
