The Dresden, awesome! My fiance and I were the tenth order from BandPassDesign a few years ago with our walnut choice and we've loved our table ever since. The bamboo top is one of the deciding factors for us because we felt it was such a gorgeous look and other companies like Wyrmwood were not pushing the wood as much. We were the original customers that asked for a custom designed DM shelf, that they've since updated and is now a standard add-on option when you place an order. I'm definitely jealous of the covers for the dice bins around the table, as that was not a feature when the company first started out. Though I believe you can order them now separately from a table order. I do find that some large games will need a bit more space than what this basic table comes with so we sometimes put our player boards up on the bamboo shelf. When compared to other board game tables out their, The Dresden is definitely in a more affordable (but still luxurious) price point. I hope you two love it as much as my fiance and I have loved ours! :)

We were fortunate enough to be able to buy a table (from a different manufacturer) during the pandemic, and it's been kind of life-changing. We used to play on our kitchen table with a big neoprene mat on top, and we'd have to carefully time our longer games to finish before mealtimes so we could clear the table to eat. The constant rolling out/rolling up of the mat was pretty annoying, too. We ended up playing games much less than we would have liked. The ability to pop the top on and have a functional table with a half-played game safely stored underneath is so, so nice.

Interestingly, we found that we have played much more games now that we can leave them set up long term. One tip on the cup holders, you can find them on Amazon in a variety of different colors and they are pretty cheap if you want to have other color options. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

How do you like the cupholders in the rail? I am working on table designs (going to build my own - I have a garage shop and experience in woodworking) - and trying to decide how to do the cupholders; Any issues with people spilling their drinks while reaching to put them in the cupholders? (an often reported issue of in rail designs). There is side mount - (like mounting on the outside below the surface) - but a lot of people say those can "get in the way" Just curious as to any thoughts - I know you have not had the table long (or at least since the video was published). Also, you will want to remove the cup holders to make them easier to clean - after accumulating dust, debris, spilled soda etc over the years.

@PRC5332 жыл бұрын
The insert is very rigid. It will of course flex if you push on the middle while it's elevated, but it's not springy at all while you're playing, at least not that I have noticed. That said, we don't often elevate ours because we haven't needed to .

I noticed around the 8:11 mark (when removing the first leaf), there was a slight 'wobble' of the middle leaf. That tells me right there that the leafs aren't fully secure to the table? Could you explain a bit how the leafs rest on the top of the table? Looks like they just sit on top. Are they secured by magnets? Do you notice the wobble?
@BeforeYouPlay3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, yes you are correct in that the table leaf topper is not clamped to the base of the table. At first we were both concerned about this, but realized that the weight of the leaves when clamped as a unit feels very secure over the top of the table. I (Naveen) have attempted to purposely shove (within accidental reason and not will all my might) the leaves to one end of the table and found that they barely budged. We haven't noticed any wobble as it seems that all parts of the wood were cute very precisely. Hope that helps!

Good question! We got our gaming table (a Jasper) when the pandemic started and it has four leaves across the top for the topper and each side of each is a rubber stopper that keeps it from shifting. I imagine you could add your own rubber stopper to the bottom of the topper to fully secure it in this manner.
@ajhansen7302 жыл бұрын
The leaves also have bumpers on the bottom which fit into the dice bin openings so they can't slide off.

This table looks great! I was thinking of getting a table of similar size but am concerned about the width. How do you like the width of the table, do you have problems grabbing things across it?
@markchapel2 жыл бұрын
I specced this table out on the maker’s website and as shown including accessories it comes out to $6,100. WHAT!?!? That’s WILDLY OVERPRICED. Tables that are at least as good as this (and some, in my opinion, better) can be had for significantly less than half that price. If you’re in the market for a gaming table, shop around. Also: That the rail system only comes in one color regardless of what color you order the table in is weird - really weird. Strongly dislike that the cup holders and trays are permanently placed, forcing players to use them “as-is.” Other makers offer accessories that attach to the rail and can be moved and grouped as the player wants - much better.
@richayang2 жыл бұрын
What alternatives do you suggest?

There are other manufacturers out there that offer cheaper tables at a variety of quality levels. However, you will not find a gaming table like this for less than about $3-$4k new. Even the modular wyrmwood tables run that much once you add accessories. The good thing though is that the choices are out there for those who want them. We have been very happy with out Dresden.
