Thanks for this video Bob, I am going over to SW to purchase later today! Can I ask an EZDrmr3 question?pause.....Ok I'll fire away hoping you'll answer. When I get a song made using song creator, all the parts come 'color coded' within EZdrmr...but then when I export to StudioOne6, they morph into one continuous drum piece where I cannot arrainge nor change...easily. My work around it moving them one by one into S1, then recoloring them, rinse repeat. What am I missing? Thanks again for your excellent and entertaining content!

Man I’m so sorry I don’t have an answer for you. I don’t construct the songs inside the plugin and don’t use any of their midi files although they are REALLY good! I just program the midi on the Cubase midi track. Thanks for watching and hopefully I’ll have answers to other question…Anyone out there know the answer to this…??

I have trouble with live recorded drum sounds, all the bleed especially on the snare (hi hat coming through) . I've found you have to compress the snare beyond belief with a few plugins to get it anywhere near a professional snare sound but it also makes the hi hat come through more. Rvox seems to be a really good compressor along with C4 on too much compression setting. Makes the snare sound quite cool

1. Put the hihat in the off axis point(s) of the drum mics and possibly raise the hihat and cymbals farther from the drums. 2. Tell the drummer not to lay into the hats and cymbals so much. 3. Gate (Silencer is superb!) 4. Notch out some annoying bleed frequencies 5. Add a sample for extra oomph and to increase perceived snare/tom volume

@@asthemoon8296 Thankyou, yeah the drums are already recorded but will note that for next time. I have gates etc but will try notch out the hi hat from the snare. I have a slate black album snare sample added for punch. Toms are all good. The hat that comes through on the snare hit actually sounds pretty cool but it gets a bit much for a whole song

Yes I have used this just recently on exactly the same thing I seem to always try presets first and can usually get really close . Have you tried sweet drums by analog obsession. Really cool plugin , great for a bus or a crush bus

What note do you usually tune your snare drum batter and resonant head to?

Sometimes to the tonic note or the 5th of the key of the song and sometimes just to where the drum resonates the best. If the pitch of the drum when it rings isn’t colliding with the instruments in dissonant way then you are usually fine. Sometimes the drum itself sounds best tuned to a note that is dissonant to the key so I’ll either tune it to a note pleasing to the key or grab a different snare. Hope all that helps!
