Yeah, Hikaru is a decent mushroom that grows everywhere, in your butt, in your face and in your eyes, But Simon Williams grows underground, just like the truffles. He may be a bit harder to find, but once you know him, you'll never go Hikaru again. Please feel welcome to the club for people with mature taste!

Hey Simon, you mentioned your videos helping people to get through tough times, and I felt that I must write this comment. I found you on KZbin in 2016 when my wife and I lived apart on the opposite sides of the globe for a whole 9 months. I felt very low then as it was mostly caused by my not-so-well-thought decisions, but watching your videos was one of the very few bright moments that I had those days. We have been reunited since then and moved to the UK (London, actually), but I have kept watching your videos ever since for 8 years straight. Just wanted to say thank you. Keep it going, and I wish you luck in your chessboxing match! Would love to support you, but North Norfolk is a bit too far!

1:40:00 Hahaha, just love the image of a badly serious russian grandmaster looking furiously at the board for 20 seconds with the knights flying randomly around all over the place while Ginger is praising the power of the Reverse LSD Alekhine Mushroom drunken knight on acid flying around the world. If anyone ever thought chess was boring, just wacht Ginger GM playing Titled Tuesday.

Great spirit! When I've got in to chess (less than a year ago, I am 39, soon), GingerGM hosted one of major tournaments and I really disliked his style of promoting the event. Fortunately for me I found a rare video related to my interests and turns out that this Guy is exactly opposite what my first impression was! Well played, GingerGM! I have spent good hundreds of hours in various chess channels but after Acid Knight variation this should be my top channel for getting chess knowledge! Good Luck, GingerGM! And let's hear from another tripping piece! =D Peace! Cheers!

Much respect for the self-sacrificing fight with _the drunken knight on acid going around the world variation_ i really really enjoyed these funny games, especially against GM Zhigalko. so sad, you had him on the ropes, but it was super close. funnily enough you inspired me to create, what i call, _Rétis knightmare, after dancing the whole night tango in a finnish sauna variation_ it goes: 1.Nf3 xx 2.h3 xx 3.Nh2 xx 4.Rg1, only to use when you are full of piggies.

You do a great job of explaining some tactical/positional tradeoffs like the whole (I am gambitting a pawn rather than suffer forever after trading on a4) thing. If you did cover games you could break them down by lots of these types of discussions (over the straight tactical analysis with many lines that others give). Like, a series titled: "The ideas behind the tactics..." or some such.

What a fun Titled Tuesday! I've heard rumours that the Drunken Knight on acid going around the world variation is going to be the centre piece system by both players during the next WC match. :) On a sadly serious note, you asked what other sorts of vids, beyond game reviews, you might consider, and I think something that would be both fun and informative would be if you went through the ideas and variations of the DKOAGATWVar, to explain why, other than just to get out of theory, it was playable (you did score 50%, and were even winning the 2nd game, so could have gotten a 3/4 score with it. In all seriousness, by going through an offbeat fun variation, you could cover the "idea" of the opening phase of the game, demonstrating ideas with novel positions rather than simply re-hash the Italian, Ruy Lopez, Sicilian, etc. I think that could be both very educational and a lot of fun for everyone.
