Btw, we don’t know who gave this city the title of “Brazilian Dubai.” I know some of you don’t like this kind of comparison (of this city or any other place in Brazil). But the titles existed way before we came to Brazil. We heard of these titles from the locals actually. And believe it or not, some are proud to say “We have Dubai in Brazil!” or “We have Japan in Brazil!” And I think it’s not because people like to make comparison. Rather, it’s because there are similar characteristics between the two places. Like when a city or municipality declares its “twin cities” which is common in Europe. But we agree that each city is unique on its own❤️

I don't really know the exact reason for the nickname. My guess is that the skyline looks a bit similar, maybe the artificial looks if you focus only on those buildings, and a strategy to attract affluent visitors. A final one is just that brazilians use nicknames a lot, both positively and also negatively, and it might just come as an automatic, autopilot thing. @eddiesantos4978 mentioned the underdog complex, and it might be a reason, but Idk, most people don't really care, I don't, it's an automatic, cultural thing. Btw, I'm from Floripa and can't remember my city having any nickname relating it to California :)

I've never met a single Muslim here in the countryside in Brazil; most Arabic people here are Lebanese Christian families who fled persecution (I know a couple of those). However I've heard there are many Muslims who manage to live quite peacefully in the bigger cities, and feel mostly welcome; I do certainly hope so; there's something heartwarming about this country, and everyone is welcome here, as long as they love peace. Guys believe me, Brasil there s a lot of things to see and do, It is much more than Rio de Janeiro, Rio is very famous specially for tourists. You should visit Gramado, next stop in the South of Brasil, much to see. And then, after Rio, good idea go to North - Fortaleza, Canoa Quebrada, lençóis maranhenses, Maragogi, dont miss those places.

It's hard to watch short videos guys, you make the experience so real. I'm in Australia watching your trip and realising you just started to get to know this vast country of Brazil. Santa Catarina state is a small population and size state in the country, along the coast you will find many more towns sprawling and thriving with modernity and yet lay back rural and beach life style. Also very safe and with low poverty, Santa Catarina if was a country itself, would b considered one of highest life standard in the world, easily. I'd recommend for you to extend your visas sometime soon as you haven't seen yet 10% of this beautiful country has to offer. Cheers

omg guyssss I LOVE seeing how much fun you’re having here! lost ivana is a vibe! hahahaha ❤️ while you’re still in the south region, don’t miss the opportunity to go to Foz do Iguaçu to see the waterfalls, it’s really something you don’t get to see everywhere. and if you ever to go Rio, the one city that you cannot miss is Paraty, it’s like traveling in time! the colonial architecture, the landscape, the culture… everything is just so well preserved, it’s one of my favorite cities in Brasil along with Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais state ❤️ in central Brasil two other places worth visiting are Bonito and Chapada dos Veadeiros, if you like amazing natural landscapes these two are a must! and finally, if you go north/northeast you can see the Lençóis Maranhenses, the island of Fernando de Noronha and some of the most beautiful beaches we have in the country ✨

I only went to Angkor Wat, amazing and giant hahaha At the same time, coincidentally, I met a friend on the same plane that was going to Asia, but she was going to Laos, she said that it is very cool, with the beginning of tourism and with some difficulties in language. 😂😂😂 My next long trip isn't quite right yet, but it will probably be Mexico and Cuba. It depends on the price of the tickets, if it is the same as in an Asian country, I prefer to go to Indonesia and the Philippines.😎

I lived in BC (Balneário Camboriú, not British Columbia... Although I also lived in British Columbia lol) most of my life. It has big-ish city vibes whilst still being small enough that you can just walk most places. It's the type of city where most people are from somewhere else, so there's an openness to outsiders. Also, you'll find something to do almost every day and any time. I think I loved Vancouver when I lived there because there was somewhat similar energies, and they are definitely the 2 fav places I've lived, even tho they are both expensive to live in xD . @@Martarini I know that your comment is old, but I live on a small city at the side of BC and I go to BC almost every weekend to visit my grandfather, It's a very safe city and it has lots of small and beatiful cities near it, I extremely recommend, it also has (a bit expensive) EXTREMELY DELICIOUS FOOD (mostly if you like fish).

I lived in Balneário Camboriú, my famíly still lives there. Its a great city, only not good in to visit in New Year Party, the city stay for 3 days almost with no water and the transit completly stopped. I love the south of Brazil.

This palm trees that you guys want to know about is called Cicadácea. These are palm trees used for landscaping, only for the purpose of decorating the gardens. These giant orange "fruit" it's actually a male palm tree cone, these cones are for reproduction.

You guys should go to Beto Carrero World it's a park localized in Penha city that's pretty close to Balneario Camboriú. This is the greatest amusement/theme park in South America :)

btw, the most famous oktoberfest in Brazil is very close Balneario Camburiu, in Blumenau. Also, visit the city of Pomerode (the most German city in Brazil), there's a brewery called Schornstein, you will like it

I went to Balneário twice is nice fun place 👍 lot of new buildings skyscrapers around the shore👍 nice entertainment on the beach but remember you guys are visiting during the summer SC state is really cold during the winter even beforethe winter 🥶 the sky turns into grey beaches empty and the big cons the water is always freezing🥶🥶🥶 even during the summer also lot of people from Argentina moved to Balneário Camboriu its very safe place you can walk at night no worries nobody is gonna rob you nice restaurants and bars to hang out at night 👍👍👍Another advice there is not too many jobs available around this areas plus the salary in Brazil is ridiculous low compared with USA & Canada 🇨🇦 and the real state prices like ocean front are extremely expensive $$$$$ even older buildings or few blocks away from the beach still a lot of money you guys will be surprised but anyway Thanks for share this nice video 👍👍👍👍👍👍.

BC (Balneário Camboriú) is packed on the holiday season, between christmas until some days after the new year. So, not always this chill. But is a great place, i love there. And you have the beach coast called Interpraias too.. And there is Bombinhas, its 30km from BC. Beautiful place.

As an English man living permanently in Curitiba Brazil, I was where you are a few weeks ago. Property is hugely expensive for me there, but Curitiba is OK pricewise but going up, starting from about $120,000 for a reasonable 3 bedroom house, Balneário Camboriú prices get higher the closer you are to the beach with prices at around $1,000000 and over. Curitiba is great for places of interest and shopping, relatively safe and not too far from some nice beaches (about 2.5 hours by car from Florianópolis).
